8.1 to AD Hales, tossed up, Hales advances and the ball straightens as he slogs down the ground... loops high out towards mid-off where B-Mac takes it on the run! A scalp for Santner, who's bowled pretty well, Hales seeking bigger returns than were on offer from that investment. 76/2 8.6 to JM Bairstow, flighted, dipping and spinning - and bowled him, past the outside edge to shave the bails! The Beast of Chester-le-Street is slain, that was a beauty from Santner, Bairstow maybe a little stuck on the crease but it turned appreciably and was the perfect length flick the top of middle. 79/3

15.5 to SW Billings, runs down the wicket, McClenaghan bangs it in, Billings throws his hands at it and gets a top edge that flies high and is taken by the keeper! Easy catch in the end and the slower-ball bouncer has done the trick, important wicket with England just finding a little momentum. 144/5 17.2 to JE Root, back of a length outside off, carved out on the off side but only to deep cover where the catch is taken after a moments hesitation. Stretching for it a little was Root and he couldn't control the stroke, finding the deep fielder. 157/6
4 | 0 | 45 | 1 | 11.25 | 4 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 0 | |
18.3 to DJ Willey, slower ball outside off, heaved up over the leg side, it's gone up so high but Santner take the catch running in from long-on, a good take looking into the sun. 169/7

11.5 to EJG Morgan, down the track, clips this leg side, in the air out towards Taylor running in and takes the catch! Very well taken, miscue from Morgan, slightly cramped up and couldn't free his arms, this was nowhere near carrying for six and Taylor was running in off the deep square fence and held the chance well. 101/4 |

0.3 to MJ Guptill, inswinger and bowled 'im! Guptill loses his leg stump, Willey slips one past the bat, maybe kissed the pad on the way through. Punches the air and lets out a growl of satisfaction. 6/1 16.1 to NL McCullum, steps across the stumps and goes to paddle, gets a good contact but guides it straight to short long leg! Straight to Finn who takes the catch shuffling to his right at shoulder height. Little batting for McCullum, difficult to come out and blast it here. Got a good connection on this but couldn't steer it wide of the fielder. 135/9 16.2 to MJ McClenaghan, goes for a reverse-paddle to a slower ball and chips it straight to the keeper! That will do nicely for England. Hiding to nothing really for McClenaghan, going for the spectacular first up, gets this off a top edge and it lobbed up to Bairstow. 135/10

3.6 to BB McCullum, follows him as B-Mac steps to leg, edges a low full toss... into off stump! Bit of a miscue from McCullum, he was looking to whip it over midwicket, maybe got beaten for pace, it was 88mph and ricocheted off the bat, flattening the stump. Wood went wide on the crease and fired it in, then wheeled away in celebration. That's only his fourth T20 wicket. 48/2 14.3 to MJ Santner, full at the off stump, Santner swings to leg and loses his off stump. A nasty hack across the line, done for pace and it was straight enough. Poor innings from Santner, looked very out of touch really, didn't time one and has simply swung across the line and missed this. 131/6 14.6 to TG Southee, full length just outside off, Southee clearing the front leg strikes it sweet as a nut down the ground but straight to mid-off! Well held by Morgan, it was straight to him but hit bloody hard, right off the meat of the bat but Southee picked out Morgan and is that New Zealand's chance gone now?. 131/8
4 | 0 | 33 | 1 | 8.25 | 5 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
8.2 to LRPL Taylor, gives it some air, dips as Taylor comes after him... and he skies a slog to mid-off! Safely pouched by Willey, so Taylor's extra life is a short one. Nicely done by Rashid, gets Taylor after causing him problems with little success during the ODIs. 89/3
3 | 0 | 24 | 2 | 8.00 | 9 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
9.1 to C Munro, length on off stump, swings and misses - shiver-me-timbers, bowled! Ill-considered swipe from Munro, hanging back to a delivery that wasn't short enough to pull, ugly shot and off popped the bails. 95/4 9.6 to L Ronchi, short ball, at the batsman, who ducks... and then tries to ramp it, sends the ball high and into the keeper's gloves! That was another cutter from Stokes, no pace for Ronchi to work with, decided to play it late but only sent it vertical. 101/5 |
