5.28pm A spirited fight is what Ireland have almost always provided. Today was no different. They showed spark and scrap to get past 200, but in the end, they had conceded just too many. Afghanistan, in truth, were appalling in the Powerplay, but fought back nicely thereafter to whitewash Ireland 3-0 in the T20 series.

Presentation time.

William Porterfield: "Anytime over 200 in both innings, credit to the groundstaff. They've come hard at us and deserved the win. As much as you want to set it up in the first six, you have to finish it in the last."

Asghar Stanikzai: "We thought 180-plus was good enough. We know our strengths, in the end we have good spinners."

Mohammad Nabi is the Man of the Match

Nabi is also the best batsman of the series, Rashid Khan is the best bowler of the series

Rashid Khan is the Man of the Series

Laiqkhan Rafeh: "What a game of cricket about 450 runs"

19.2
W
M Nabi to Dockrell, OUT

that's the game. A slow, short delivery outside off. Dockrell slog-sweeps the ball into the hands of deep midwicket. Afghanistan's impressive run keeps chugging along. 11 unbeaten now.

M Nabi to Dockrell, 1 run, OUT

that's not one. A yorker on off, jammed down to long-on, who runs in, picks up cleanly and throws the stumps down at the bowler's end. McCarthy may not have a worse day in cricket. 0 off 0 after the most expensive figures in T20I cricket

Barry McCarthy run out (Najibullah Zadran) 0 (0b 0x4 0x6 1m) SR: 0

Five sixes will do nicely for Ireland. Nabi to finish

another one. Three in the over. Another ripping googly that isn't read by the batsman. Gets down to sweep and misses, clips the top of leg stump

Rashid Khan to Tucker, OUT

bowled 'im. Another one. Flat on leg, Tucker hurries back and misses his pull. Leg stump is hit and Ireland's impressive fight looks short, in all likelihood

Lorcan Tucker b Rashid Khan 16 (14b 0x4 1x6 25m) SR: 114.28

Rashid Khan to Tucker, 2 runs

runs down, skews the legbreak over cover for a couple. Didn't quite get to the pitch

18.2
W
Rashid Khan to Wilson, OUT

slog-swept into the hands of deep midwicket, and that should probably be the game. A full legreak, deserved to go. Wilson got underneath but only skied the ball into the reverse-cupped hands of the fielder

Gary Wilson c Samiullah Shinwari b Rashid Khan 59 (34b 5x4 2x6 47m) SR: 173.52

Shapoor to Tucker, no run

they don't. Looks to scoop the ball over the keeper but the ball is quick, full and wide. Goes through the legs for a crucial dot

Ireland need a boundary here

Shapoor to Wilson, 1 run

clipped to midwicket, just one.

Shapoor to Wilson, FOUR runs

a thick inside edge. Full and straight, Wilson mows but gets just enough bat to beat the stumps and the keeper

Shapoor to Tucker, (no ball) 2 runs

great stuff from the fielder But Shapoor has overstepped again. Shovelled away to deep midwicket. The fielder gets to his left, and pulls it in acrobatically. Another great call by the umpire. So marginal, but definitely over

1
Shapoor to Wilson, 1 run

a low full toss on off, slogged to deep square leg for one

17.2
1w
Shapoor to Wilson, 1 wide

a slower ball down the leg side results in a free run for Ireland

Mark: "However this ends, it's been a spirited chase by Ireland of what looked like an impossible target, although they look likely to fall just short."

given runs. Big appeal. The googly on off and middle. Wilson doesn't read it. Goes back to cut but the ball rips back in. Struck him in front of off but was there some bat before pad, or pad before bat?

16.5
1
Rashid Khan to Tucker, 1 run
