Right then. That brings to an end our coverage of this game. Bangladesh have been thoroughly clinical and deserved to win. In hindsight, probably Tharanga should have made first use of the surface as it seemed pretty good to bat on. But you cannot blame him entirely for electing to field as he had to take the dew into consideration. That apart, there is plenty for Sri Lanka to ponder about and they do not have much time as this is a three-match series and one more defeat will see them concede it. Bangladesh have picked up from right where they left off in the Tests. Another win on Tuesday will be another feather to impressive recent ODI performances. Join us then for the second ODI at the same venue. Until then, it's goodbye from us.

Mashrafe Mortaza - Obviously, it was important to win, especially when it is a three-match series, the first game becomes important. I think we played the perfect game today. If you look at our game, Tamim, Mushfiqur have all played for the last 10 years and are very experienced. If you look at the history of this ground, 250-270 would have been a par score. I think Tamim was phenomenal. Shakib also played very well and Mosaddek and Mahmudullah finished well.

Upul Tharanga - I think we controlled the middle period very well. But we bowled very badly and on the field also, we gave around 25-30 runs extra. We have to improve in all three departments. Chasing big totals, someone needs to get a big score. We lost three wickets in the first ten overs. Chasing 300, someone needs to get that big score, which we did not do today.

Tamim - I had a lot of opportunities to score fifties, but I did not convert the. But the past is past, and whenever I have the opportunity, I want to score and help the team in the process as well. Batting till the 45th over is not easy, lot of sweat goes down. We just kept our cool and kept rotating the strike. The way Shakib played was exceptional. I knew if I scored 135 or so, we could get to 300. That is what I tried to do. The heat got to me.

Tamim Iqbal is the Man of the Match for his century.

Presentation time.

10.35pm The Bangladesh of 2015 would've jumped in joy, maybe even shouted from roof tops. But this side, who have beaten Pakistan, India, South Africa and England (well, nearly in ODIs), know they're much improved and can mount a serious challenge against the big boys regularly. What's heartening from their point of view is they've been able to sustain momentum from the win in the second Test. The architects of the win? Two of their superstars: Tamim and Shakib

At the end, you've got to wonder if Sri Lanka erred by sending Thisara in at No. 8. Could the result have been different had they sent him higher up? Probably not, but at least they could have got much closer to the target. Sri Lanka at no stage looked like chasing this down, not even when Chandimal was fighting. Plenty of thinking to do if they're to bounce back in this three-match series.

Mustafizur to Perera, OUT

looks to swing this over midwicket, but the bat face turns in his hand as he makes contact. That means there's no power behind the stroke whatsoever. Lobs high. Long-off comes in, calls for it and then takes it. Bangladesh's second win ever in ODIs in Sri Lanka.

turns this with the spin but Mustafizur is quick to swoop in on the ball and fire a throw. Sandakan took a couple of steps outside his crease and waited for some reason. Then took off again. Was a couple of yards short when the bails were broken.
