Leinster vs Knights, at Belfast, , Jun 04 2017 - Match Result

With a flurry of late wickets, the Knight have done well here to limit the Lightning to under 300.

Getkate was the pick of the Knights bowlers, picking up five wickets and his best List A figures.

You would have to feel that the Lightning wouldn't be happy not to get over the 300. Its still going to be a tough target for the Knights to chase.

Match State: Innings Break

3:05pm Welocme back, looks like we are going to have a little delay before the Knights Innings starts.

Just as the players came off at the end of the Innings, the heavens opened and deposited a large amount of water.

The Umpires are out having a look at the ground and the groundstaff are working on the covers.

No news on what time we are likely to start again.

3:35pm Just as it looked like we were about to get going again, the rain returned. So at the minute all the covers are back on. No chance of play for a while you would suggest.

Match State: Delay - Play delayed due to wet outfield

3.55pm The Umpires have been out to look at the ground. Alot of rain fell in a short period of time.

So they reckon that its going to take 90 mins to get the ground ready to play. That's great if there is no more rain. Although seeing that we have more black clouds approaching from the West.....

Cut off time is 5:30pm, that's the latest that we can get out there and give the Knights 20 Overs to make this a game.

4:15pm The rain has come back again. Quite heavy again too, not looking good for us getting back out there again.

4:45pm The Umpires have been out in the middle and they looked under the covers and then called the Captains out.

When that happens you know that things aren't good. Handshakes all around and the game has been abandoned.

Just no chance of the ground being ready in the time left.

With that both teams pick up two points. As at the beginning of the day, the Lightning are still top of the IP50 table on 7 points.

The Knights are now in second place on their own on four points, with the Warriors in third on two point.

Although this games a no result, we wont have long until these two teams meet again. 11:00am tomorrow sees the start of the three day game between these two sides at Stormont. I will be there and I hope that you can join me there too.
