Around the wicket, back of a length and shaping it back at him, he makes some room and can't clear mid-off; didn't get all of it as Quetta register an emphatic win; it's been a terrific all-round performance
Gladiators vs Zalmi, 17th Match at Lahore, PSL, Apr 27 2025 - Match Result
That's it from this game. Thank you for tuning in. See you again tomorrow with more PSL action. Ciao!
Faheem Ashraf, Player of the Match: Pitch was totally different today, length ball was bouncing more than usual. This is not what we usually see in PSL across different pitches in Pakistan. I'm always ready to bowl at any stage of the game and do my practice in a manner that readies me for the game situation. We were going for maximum total, didn't have a set target in mind.
It's a sorry-looking scorecard, with only Talat showing some resistance. Nobody else really got going. Faheem Ashraf was expensive but made regular incisions, finishing with a fifer. Mohammad Amir got the massive wicket of Babar Azam in the third over and won the battle within the battle. The pacers generally read the pitch quickly, took cues from the first innings, and bowled relentlessly on a back-of-a-length, making full use of the fierce - and sometimes uneven - bounce. Khurram shed two, Wasim attacked the stumps incessantly, and it's looking like one of the best bowling attacks this PSL. It was an abject surrender from Peshawar on a tricky pitch, and the batters couldn't adjust; no real contributions from the top order didn't help either. Earlier, Saud Shakeel got the total he was aiming for and it proved more than enough on this wicket. Solid contributions propelled the score close to 180. Quetta move to third while Peshawar are precariously placed at fifth on the points table after this game
Hamza: "@Hassan, you can sleep now"
Over the wicket, shortens his length, slants across off, he tries to slash and can't connect
Leg and first slip in place. Tossed up wicket to wicket, gets behind line and defends it with aplomb
Slower in the air, length and angled wide of off, wafts it and finds Rossouw at point; he has been kept busy, smiles all around in the field and the faint hope goes up in the smoke with this wicket, last recognized batter. Abrar gave a lot of width and the shot was on but he didn't offer much pace and he couldn't place it in the gap; it was a tough ask nevertheless, Talat needed some support
On a length and spinning across off, dribbles away into the covers, protection in the deep
Bonks it into the gap at deep midwicket, on middle, he went low and slammed it away with lots of force
Cries of catch it up, pitched up in his hitting arc and he doesn't need any second invitation, pounds it downtown and Allen jumped but can't pouch it, mistimed a jump little bit
Hassan : "Hussain is the last hope, I am still awake to see a miracle from him."
Over the wicket, shorter and pushed wide of off, reaches out to cut and is unable to lay bat
Thuds it at a slightly shorter length on middle and off, prodded away to wide mid-off for a quick single
Shorter ball on middle, rising steeply, moves across his stumps to pull it behind square, unable to connect
Typical fast bowler response. Spiteful bumper on middle, gets out of the way
Back of a length and just outside off, razes it behind backward point for a four, just a little bit of width and he latches onto it in a jiffy
Pitched up and follows his leg-side shimmy, walloped away to deep square region
Over the wicket, back of a length and holding its line on middle, scuffs a drive back towards Wasim
Pace-off shorter length hung away outside off, glides it down to deep third
Comes down the track and plays an aesthetically pleasing cut in front of backward point for a four; beautiful footwork
Spicy stuff, rears up sharply just outside off, took off, tries to cut and is unsuccessful
Pace-off back of a length delivery swerving in at him, couldn't get behind the line
Slow-tennis ball bumper on off, drags a pull to midwicket region
Over the wicket, touch short and sliding onto the pads, uncorks his wrists and guides it to midwicket
Amir has been called back to finish the job
