Bangladesh fly replacements for Karim and Rubel

Bangladesh have announced replacements for two academy cricketers currently on tour in Sri Lanka, Mahbubul Karim and Rubel Hossain, the Daily Star has reported.

Karim, a right-hand batsman, is among the 14 Bangladesh players who have reportedly quit domestic cricket to join the Indian Cricket League. He will be replaced by opening batsman Jahurul Islam. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is set to meet all the rebel players this week at the board headquarters in Mirpur.

Rubel, the seamer who was part of Bangladesh's Under-19 World Cup team in Malaysia, is nursing an injury and Shafaq Al Zabir, the left-arm seamer, will be his replacement.

The Bangladesh Academy have drawn both their fixtures against Sri Lanka Academy. They will play their final four-day match starting tomorrow at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
