Scorecard
Barbados had just won six games out of six, and the Carib Beer cup to boot. Not that any of it appeared to matter to Trinidad, who removed half the Barbados side for 110, and then survived Courtney Browne's brutality and the loss of a late wicket to regain ground in pursuit of Barbados's 285.
Browne came in after Trinidad had slumped to 110 for 5 from the comfort zone of 62 for 0, largely due to the persistent line and length bowled by Amit Jaggernauth. Sherwin Campbell was hit on the back foot, Dwayne Smith swung and missed in front of the stumps, and Martin Nurse drove against the turn to put the man at cover into business.
While Ryan Hinds (50) kept the fielders alert to chances, Browne played it safe and along the ground, hitting 16 fours on his way to 98, before anti-climactically guiding the ball to slips. But along the way, he was assisted by Hinds in a 95-run stand, and by Pedro Collins in a 48-run partnership that ensured a competitive total.
When Trinidad began their reply, Darren Ganga discovered that Collins had been working on his inswinger (4 for 1). But that didn't deter Sherwin Ganga and Rayad Emrit from letting their hair down, and ending the day with an array of shots to the fence.
