In the three National League matches played, there were convincing wins for Gloucestershire, Durham and Sussex. In Division One, a controlled 44 from Mike Hussey helped Gloucestershire to victory in a low-scoring game against Northants, who were bowled out for only 91.
In Division Two, an unbeaten 63 from Paul Collingwood guided Durham to a five-wicket win over Worcestershire at Chester-le-Street. Stephen Moore helped Worcestershire to 205 with 93 not out, but Collingwood came up trumps for Durham. In the other match, Michael Yardy boosted Sussex to a healthy 271 for 7 before Robin Martin-Jenkins took 4 for 39 as Derbyshire went down by 84 runs.
