Karachi, Jan 4: There was total confusion over the mystery surrounding
Shoaib Akhtar's return from Australia after he was suspended from
international cricket.
The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ad hoc committee
Lt-Gen Tauqir Zia repeated on Tuesday evening that the paceman will
stay in Perth where he will attend a course at Western Australian
cricket University for four days.
But the team manager Brig Khawaja Nasir said from Adelaide that Shoaib
will be sent home because his presence was distracting the
concentration of the team.
The BBC went a step ahead saying that Shoaib has reached
Islamabad. But when this correspondent contacted Shoaib's family, they
expressed their ignorance.
"We talked to Shoaib last evening and he said he will be going to
Perth for a week," family sources said.
