Scorecard
The Titans remained unbeaten in the Standard Bank Pro20 Series with a convincing 33-run win over the Cobras at SuperSport Park, Centurion.
Batting first on a superb pitch, the Titans scored 180 for 7 despite a 20-minute break due a power failure resulting in the floodlights going out. AB de Villiers and Goolam Bodi put on 85 off 54 balls for the first wicket setting the platform for the rest. A quick 32 from Martin van Jaarsveld and 21 not out from Gerald Dros maintained the tempo for the Titans, taking them to a very defendable total. Alan Dawson showed his experience taking 1 for 24 in his four overs.
The Cobras started well with Ian Harvey (35) and JP Duminy (27) staying in touch with the rate. Three failures at the top of the innings, due to some hostile bowling from Morne Morkel (2 for 17), put the rest of the batting under a lot of pressure. The young Dominic Telo showed some class, but once he was run out for 34 in his first Pro20 innings, the writing was on the wall with the Cobra settling on reaching the bonus-point total of 144, which they passed in the final over to end on 147 for 9.
