Eagles v Sussex, Group B, Champions League, Delhi

13-Oct-2009
With Eagles needing nine off the final three deliveries, Yasir Arafat sent down a near yorker on the pads. Ryan McLaren looked to swipe it over long-on but he could only manage an inside-edge. Luckily for him, that sent the ball flying past the keeper for four.
Eagles had only got two runs in the Superover off the first three balls. Rilee Rossouw, who looked the most comfortable of all the batsmen today, then rocked back and clubbed the next ball over long-on for six, giving his team something to defend.
Even after Rossouw's big hit, Eagles had managed only nine in the Superover. Sussex were clearly favourites when their turn came to bat in the eliminator. But they hadn't reckoned with CJ de Villiers, who knocked back the offstump on the first two deliveries to send Sussex crashing out of the tournament.
