Fourth place finish for Hong Kong after six-wicket loss to Qatar in the ACC U19 Elite Cup play-off

The ACC Under-19 Elite Cup defending champions, Hong Kong, have finished fourth in this year's event following a six-wicket drubbing by Qatar.
Another poor betting performance by Hong Kong saw them dismissed for a disappointing 126 in 38.3 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat in the 3rd/4th Play-off match. A number of Hong Kong batsmen got starts but none could do better than the 26 scored by opening bowler and number 8 batsman Niaz Ali.
Qatar's Tamoor Sajjad, later named Player of the Tournament, was the chief destroyer as he claimed 3-35 from 10 overs, while Omar Ishtiaq also picked up 3-40 from his full allotment of overs.
While the Hong Kong batters struggled, the Qatari batsmen found no terrors in the AIT (Asian Institute of Technology) wicket in Bangkok and they eased to a six-wicket victory in 31.5 overs. Opener Taha Mohammad struck a fluent 44 from 60 balls while Tamoor Sajjad brought about a swift conclusion to proceedings with a rapid-fire 41 from 30 balls.
Nizakat Khan claimed 3-36 from his ten overs for Hong Kong but his efforts weren't enough to save the champs.
Summary Scorecard: HKG U19 126 from 38.3 overs (Niaz Ali 26; Tamoor Sajjad 3-35, Omar Ishtiaq 3-40) lost to QAT U19 129-4 from 31.5 overs (Taha Mohammad 44, Tamoor Sajjad 41; Nizakat Khan 3-36) by 6 wickets
The tournament was won by Afghanistan who beat Nepal by 61 runs in the final.
