Tamil Nadu took firm control against Mumbai in Chennai, racking up 417 to build a huge lead over the visitors. V Shankar stretched his overnight score 47 to 95 but Tamil Nadu were down to 273 for 8 at one stage. B Indrajith made his maiden first-class hundred at No. 8 and put on 130 for the ninth wicket with M Rangarajan (46). Indrajith faced 162 balls and hit 11 fours and a six to make 101. He was last man out by when Tamil Nadu had gone to 417 in 122 overs for a first-innings lead of 276. Mumbai offspinner Akshay Girap took 4 for 87. Mumbai lost Akhil Herwadkar in the second innings, ending on 12 for 1.
