Naved Latif, who has played one Test and 11 ODIs, has been named captain of Pakistan's squad for the Hong Kong Sixes which take place on October 27 and 28.
Allrounder Yasir Arafat, part of Pakistan's World Twenty20 team, finds a place which suggests he is unlikely to be considered for the one-day series against South Africa that is taking place at the same time.
Mansoor Amjad, the legspinner, and promising 21-year-old batsman Shahid Yousuf are also given opportunities to represent their country in the annual six-a-side event in Kowloon.
This year, along with the major Test nations, there will be an All-Star team competing including Shane Warne and Brian Lara.
