Four players have been named to attend the Shell Cricket Academy of the St. George's University in Grenada as replacements for four others who have adjusted cricket commitments over the next three months.
Trinidad & Tobago unorthodox left-arm spin bowler Dave Mohammed, Leeward Islands off-spin bowler Chaka Hodge, along with the Barbadian pair of fast bowler Fidel Edwards and batsman Alcindo Holder have been named to be part of the 24 students from the region attending the Academy.
These four players have gained the opportunity to attend the Academy after Guyana's Ron Matthews and Leewards' Omari Banks withdrew to accept professional playing contracts with league clubs in Britain, while Jamaica's Darren Powell and Trinidad & Tobago's Dwayne Bravo were named in the West Indies A-Team squad to visit Britain and Canada during the summer.
This is the second year of the Shell Cricket Academy of the St. George's University in Grenada. It is a joint effort of Shell, the multi-national oil giant, and the West Indies Cricket Board, in collaboration with the St. George's University.
