Jamie How struck an unbeaten century as Central Districts and Canterbury played out a tame draw on the final day at Napier. Canterbury had begun the day on 376 for 6, still 86 runs away from securing the first-innings lead points. Kruger van Wyk, Iain Robertson and Corey Anderson, who was making his first-class debut, dug deep to take Canterbury to 462 for 8 and they declared with a lead of two. How struck 102 off 167 balls in the second innings as Central Districts finished on 197 for 4.
Northern Districts secured a first-innings lead against Wellington on the final day after the third day's washout out ensured that there would be no outright result at Basin Reserve. Resuming at 8 for 1 on the fourth morning Northern Districts slipped further to 82 for 5 before Nick Horsley and Peter McGlashan led the recovery. Horsley scored 57 and McGlashan 63 and together they added 127 for the sixth wicket. Then they lost three quick wickets to be reduced to 215 for 8 before Timothy Southee bludgeoned 75 off 47 balls to take Northern Districts to 319 for 8 at stumps.
No play was possible between Otago and Auckland due to rain on the final day at Dunedin. The match ended in a draw.
