Mashrafe finishes it off with a six! Length ball, Mashrafe sizes it up and launches it down the ground to put the seal on Bangladesh's win
Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 1st T20I at Dhaka, , Nov 13 2015 - Match Result
8:30pm: That is all we have for you. Thanks for your company and comments. Do join us back for the second T20 on Sunday. Till then, buh-bye and good night.
Presentation:
Waller, Man of the Match: I just freed myself up and played my game. I did not think too much about it and went for the areas. I am sure the boys will come to the party next game
Chigumbura: Especially after three quick wickets, I thought Waller gave us a chance to defend the score. Today, the pitch was different and it was keeping low. That's where we lost it. We have to make sure we stay positive.
Mashrafe: I am not really satisfied. We got partnerships but we couldn't get through. Waller batted really well today and we got his wicket at the right time.
8:15pm: Bangladesh were jolted by early wickets, Cremer and Chisoro then combined well in the middle overs, but Mahmudullah showed calmness and as did Mashrafe. Eventually, Bangladesh clinched it by four wickets. They were also helped by Panyangara who lost his rhythm at the death and sprayed the ball all round the shop. Perhaps, an extra 20 runs from Zimbabwe would have tested Bangladesh further.
Bharath Seervi, our statsman strikes: "First time the Bangladesh team is without a left-arm spinner. In all their previous 44 T20Is they had at least 1 left-arm spinner "
Niaz: "Mash for man of the match, please :-)"
Abir Utsha : "Waller should be judged Man of the Match."
Mahmudullah: I just did it for the team. My role is to put on partnerships and finish.
Over the wicket.
short on the leg from round the wicket, pulled away, fine leg had no chance. The crowd dancing and jiving to their captain's tune
full and on the pads, Mashrafe can't connect with a flick
full and on middle, dabbed in front of midwicket. Jongwe gets across quickly but can't throw the stumps down at the non-strikers' end
Jongwe.
Bangladesh need only 7 off 18 balls
low full toss on off, (mis)hit back to the bowler
Madziva persists with the shorter length, swivel-pulled behind square
dug in again, pulled powerfully to deep midwicket
short and on middle and leg, Mashrafe gets inside the line and helps it fine with a pull
full ball on off, that's pushed back to the bowler
too full and outside off, driven crisply to Ervine at deep cover
Madziva replaces Panyangara.
Chisoro gives this more air outside off to round off a wicket maiden. Mashrafe hangs back and glides it to short third man, all along the ground, though
another quick, flat one. Mashrafe answers with a front-foot defence
slid short and outside off, cut straight to cover
straight ball on off, defended back to the bowler
full and pushed through on middle, worked to midwicket
Mashrafe is greeted by cheers.
Chisoro's extra bounce undoes Liton. This one gets big on Liton, who tunes up for a cut, but ends up looping it to short third man off a top edge
full and on middle and leg, Mahmudullah gets another four. This one via an inside edge that runs away past the leg stump
wide full toss outside off, Mahmudllah bends his knee and sends it skimming over cover
Another no ball and another free hit coming up
fractionally short on off, late dab to third man.
back of a length, swung away over backward square leg
