22.5 to T Stubbs, Edged, and this time, taken! Holder gets his man. It's a good catch by Kavem Hodge at third slip. This is another full outswinger, closer to off stump this time. Draws Stubbs into the drive but he can only get a thick edge. Flies to Hodge's left and he leaps to grab it high with both hands. 57/4
14 | 3 | 45 | 3 | 3.21 | 65 | 8 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
3.3 to T de Zorzi, Beauty! Seales leaps away in celebration and West Indies strike early. Lands it on a length well outside off, gets it to jag back in appreciably. In fact, it swings in before seaming in. De Zorzi strides forward to defend but leaves a hugggeeee gap between bat and pad. The ball sneaks in and makes a mess of the stumps. What a sight!. 8/1 29.6 to PWA Mulder, Another nick, Seales this time! Unplayable almost. Goes wide of the crease and lands a length ball on middle, getting it to shape away. Mulder, new at the crease, has to play because of the line and the length. But the away movement means the ball grazes the outside edge and nestles into Da Silva's gloves. South Africa in tatters. 87/6 33.3 to K Rabada, Rabada knocked over now. A dismissal akin to the one of de Zorzi. Lands it in on a length and then it swings back in sharply. Rabada comes forward to defend but is done in by the exaggerated inward movement. 93/8
14 | 4 | 33 | 5 | 2.35 | 67 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
10.3 to AK Markram, Timberrrr! That's how Shamar Joseph picks up his first Test wicket on his home-ground in Guyana. He uses the wobble seam on a length outside off, angles it into the batter. The length is slightly fuller, not too full, which means Markram thinks of leaving it be. The last couple of deliveries nipped away but this one carried going in with the angle. And the height was just enough for the ball crashed into top of off. Doesn't take much to get Joseph off and running, does it?. 20/2 10.5 to T Bavuma, Bavuma is trapped plumb in front! A second wicket in three balls for Joseph and West Indies rejoice. Another length ball outside off, a touch shorter, the wobble seam doing its thing again. This one sharply jags back in and keeps low too. Bavuma was on his toes to defend but had to crouch quickly but got struck low in front of the stumps. Thought about a review but didn't get a go ahead from Stubbs. 20/3 28.6 to DG Bedingham, Superb stuff, Joseph! It is the full ball that has troubled Bedingham and the man from Baracara wins the duel. Spears it full and just outside off, on the fifth stump. Bedingham goes for the drive. It was the wobble seam again, and it nipped away just a bit, taking the outside edge through to the wicketkeeper. Joseph is proving tough to get away and South Africa are learning that by losing three wickets to him. 78/5 30.3 to KA Maharaj, Castled! Joseph to the fore with his four. He goes wide of the crease and bowls it on a length around off. Beats Maharaj, who is rooted to the crease, for pace on the inside edge and makes a mess of the stumps. Home-man the showman in Guyana. 88/7 36.1 to K Verreynne, Five-for for five-star Joseph! What a homecoming for him. The sparse crowd at the venue is jumping with joy. Joseph goes wide of the crease and spears it on a length on middle and leg. Verreynne has been walking across to counter the away movement to deliveries in the channel around off. But he is caught by surprise by the line of this ball. Still, he tries to clip it away but only manages to play it on. Joseph cannot believe it, runs towards covers, gets down on his knees and looks skywards. A magnificent third five-wicket haul in Test cricket. 97/9

53.6 to N Burger, Up goes the finger! But Burger reviews this. He misses this length ball bowled from around the wicket. Spins in after pitching on middle and leg. Did he get bat on that? No bat involved. This looks plumb. And so it is. Ball tracking has it crashing into middle and leg. Burger was on his way back after seeing there was no bat. And that ends a memorable 10th-wicket stand! Dane Piedt is stranded on 38, but he and Burger have helped add some very crucial runs for South Africa. 160/10 |

32.6 to JA Warrican, That's chipped to mid-on! Rabada has his first of the match! That's not his best delivery by any means, but it gets him the result. This is overpitched on off and Warrican looks to clip it leg side. Ends up chipping it to Maharaj's right and he makes no mistake. 103/8
12 | 2 | 49 | 3 | 4.08 | 56 | 8 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
1.6 to M Louis, Louis does not like this Burger as it is a peach! A series of away-going deliveries, it seemed Burger was struggling to land the ball in the right area. But he does this time. Lands it on a good length on middle, gets it to move away ever-so slightly. Louis perhaps is caught completely unawares and looks to push it back down but is beaten on the outside edge and is clean bowled. He cannot believe how he missed it and waits a couple of moments before taking the long walk back. 2/1 12.4 to KU Carty, And Carty falls now! Burger does not quite celebrate because he perhaps did not land it where he wanted. Bowls it on a length on leg, Carty clips it straight into the hands of the midwicket fielder. West Indies falling like a pack of cards. 47/5 35.4 to JNT Seales, The old one-two trick works wonders! Goes full on the stumps and Seales misses it. Umpire raises his finger immediately. Seales reviews it. Was that going down leg? Ball tracking shows it crashing into leg stump and Seales has to walk. Burger followed that short ball up perfectly with the full delivery, and Seales fell into the trap. 104/9

7.2 to KC Brathwaite, Through the gate! Mulder strikes second ball and the West Indies captain's innings ends early again. He lands it on a length outside off, and gets it to lift while jagging it back into the batter. Brathwaite looks to once again bring in his bat down at an angle. Leaves a huge gap between bat and pad, enough for the ball to sneak through. 21/2 9.5 to A Athanaze, Stunning catch from Mulder! Outstanding. Superb athleticism on show from the South Africa allrounder. He bowls it on a length aiming on off and middle, Athanaze walks down the track to play it across the line to the on side. He ends up getting a leading edge to the right of Mulder, who was moving to his left in his follow-through. He quickly sticks out his right hand and pouches it as he tumbled down. He is ecstatic and so are his team-mates. 35/3 11.4 to KAR Hodge, Catching practice for slip! Mulder making superb use of the swing available and lands it in perfect channel. Full and outside off, enticing the drive and getting it to swing away. Hodge falls into the trap and edges it straight to third slip. 43/4 15.5 to J Da Silva, Nicked! This is slightly shorter than the last ball, pitching on a full length. Da Silva goes driving with hard hands and that's his downfall. Gets a thick edge to Markram at second slip, who gobbles it up. Mulder has his fourth!. 56/6
5.4 | 2 | 8 | 2 | 1.41 | 29 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
28.2 to G Motie, Motie misses the sweep and that looks plumb in front! It's pitched on a length outside off and spins in just a bit. It's not exactly a sweep from Motie, who is halfway down to play one when he swipes across the line. No bat on ball. And ball tracking has the ball crashing bang into the middle of middle stump and Motie's resistance comes to an end. And West Indies lose a review! And that will also be stumps!. 97/7 42.4 to S Joseph, Big shout, a long wait from the umpire, but up goes the finger! Joseph has reviewed this, though. This was full on off, and spinning in. Joseph went for a sweep but is beaten all ends up. Unless that's going down leg, I think this should wrap up West Indies' innings. That's clipping the top of leg according to ball tracking, so it's umpire's call and West Indies have been bowled out for 144. 144/10 |

20.6 to T de Zorzi, Nicked behind! That is the length and line that Ian Bishop on air wanted Seales to stick to. And he gets the reward finally. Continues hammering around the corridor just outside off, de Zorzi has one fatal poke after getting outside off and this time the ball grazes the outside edge. Just 3 runs in his last 34 balls after he was 36 off 38! A wicket finally for West Indies, South Africa lead by 95. 79/1 45.6 to T Stubbs, Nicked off! Seales has been so good this spell and he gets the reward for it! Another length ball outside off that straightens after pitching. This time it just gets a thin edge off Stubbs as he looks to drive and it's an easy grab for da Silva. 134/4 47.4 to DG Bedingham, Inside edge onto the stumps! Or wait, onto the pads and then onto the stumps! Length ball angling in and Bedingham tried to defend, but it ricochets onto the stumps off his right pad. Seales' terrific spell continues to get rewards! That's three wickets in the last four overs. West Indies suddenly on the rise here!. 139/5 71.4 to KA Maharaj, Another duck for Maharaj! Seales gets him almost like Rabada got Warrican yesterday. This one is on a length in line of the stumps, Maharaj looks to clip it away but chips it straight to short midwicket. West Indies are hastening the end this morning. 227/7 73.2 to K Verreynne, Timberrrrr! Five-for for Seales, superb display of seam bowling. He goes wide of the crease and slants it in on off and middle, on a fullish length. Looks like a driving length, which is why Verreynne goes for it. Gets beaten on the inside and sees the stumps shattered. End of a superb knock and Seales runs away in celebration. 232/8 80.4 to N Burger, Fantastic caught and bowled, Seales finishes with a six-wicket haul. He runs in from around the wicket and bowls it on a fuller-than-good length outside off, getting it to swing in appreciably. Burger is only half-forward and drives it back. But Seales is up to the catching chance on his right in his follow-through and takes it with his right hand. 246/10

38.6 to AK Markram, And now the finger goes up! It's a length ball on middle that straightens after pitching. It stays low too, and sneaks under the bat as Markram goes back to play it. That's plumb in front so he doesn't bother with a review. Markram departs after reaching his half-century. 120/2 44.3 to T Bavuma, Big appeal as Bavuma is seemingly struck on the pad as he comes forward to this length ball on the stumps. Brathwaite has a think and opts for the review. Was there an inside edge?. No that's hit the pad first. And that's crashing into top of leg! Motie gets Bavuma this time, with the review coming good! This was tossed up on full and going on with the angle. Good stuff from Motie, who has his third wicket of the match, after going wicketless in the last. 134/3

70.6 to PWA Mulder, Gonerrrr! West Indies strike in the opening over. A wicket reminiscent of Markram's. Warrican bowls it on a length just outside off, it skids on with the arm. Mulder goes back to flick it away but is struck right in front of the stumps on the back pad. 224/6 78.6 to K Rabada, Superb catch by Hodge! It comes very low to his left but he gets both hands to it and pouches it well. The umpires want to have another look. Warrican tossed it up, wider outside off, Rabada came forward to block with an angled bat. That meant the edge was taken and Hodge did the rest at slip. A clean catch and that is Warrican's second. 244/9

4.4 to M Louis, And that's the first to fall! Rabada draws the edge. Length ball outside off straightens just a bit. Louis was pressing forward to defend but it goes off a thick edge. Good catch at third slip too. Mulder takes it low to his right. Rabada now on 297 Test wickets!. 12/1 30.5 to KAR Hodge, Rabada gets his man! Length ball seams in from outside off and Hodge can only inside edge it onto the stumps as he tries to bring his bat dwon. Huge roar from Rabada, He is just two away from 300 now!. 99/4 61.6 to S Joseph, Flying Bavuma does it for South Africa, Nonchalantly leaps up at mid-on to catch Joseph out with his right hand. Such is the swag that he does not even celebrate much. Just casually turns around. Rabada has a more dramatic reaction, after he saw a chance missed earlier in the over. 17.4 to KC Brathwaite, Mulderrrr on the board! Or is he? Braithwaite reviews the lbw decision. Goes wide of the crease and angles it in on a length on middle, Brathwaite looks to defend in front of the body but is beaten on the inside edge. He is hit on the knee-roll of the front pad. Is it sliding down? He was quick to review that. Three reds and the West Indies captain is out of here. 54/2 21.1 to KU Carty, Chopped on! So the no-ball does not prove costly for Mulder and South Africa. Length ball wide outside off, perhaps on the sixth stump line. Carty stands on middle and looks to drive away from the body with little footwork. He had only 1 run in his last 13 balls and was a tad impatient and that has cost him. West Indies still need 201 and are in some bother. 62/3

52.4 to G Motie, Hugeee appeal, given! Motie takes it upstairs. Flatter on a length just outside off, spinning in. He goes back to swipe it away but gets hit on the front leg. Is it turning too much? Just clipping leg and Maharaj gets the breakthrough. Motie walks back after a fantastic knock that raised West Indies' hopes. 181/7 54.2 to J Da Silva, Maharaj with the big blow! Da Silva has been ruled out lbw but he challenges the call. He goes back to clip the length ball away, but misses. Has the ball straightened enough? Yes, enough for Maharaj and South Africa as it clips leg stump. 182/8 66.2 to JNT Seales, And South Africa win! Full ball spins in from outside off and Seales can only clip it to the FSL fielder. Maharaj is South Africa's most prolific Test spinner with that wicket, and South Africa have their tenth series win in a row against West Indies!. 222/10

33.6 to A Athanaze, Athanaze loses patience and West Indies lose a wicket! This is tossed up on a length outside off and Athanaze goes for a big sweep. He gets a top edge and that goes high in the air behind the keeper and Mulder at second slip gets under it and takes the catch. That's Athanae gone for 15 and South Africa are now just five wickets away!. 103/5 35.1 to JO Holder, Lofted straight to long-on! What has Holder done here? Leans forward and across to this flighted delivery outside off and he chips it half-heartedly in the air. Long-on comes in a few paces and takes it easily. A bit of a brain fade from Holder, there was absolutely no reason for that!. 104/6 |
