2.6 to NF Kelly, Deserved it, he has bowled so well in these two overs. Good length, shaping into his pads, he lunges at it, closes the face of the bat and gives a simple catch to Abdullah Shafique at short midwicket / short leg position, he lunged forward and hanged onto it brilliantly. That's the early breakthrough Pakistan were looking for, it's not easy conditions with the ball moving a lot and Naseem has hit the right spots so far, reaped the rewards for his discipline, was a touch fuller and the pressure of dots was also a factor. 13/1 31.1 to TL Seifert, Seifert has holed out at deep mid wicket! Well directed bouncer kept a bit low on the stumps, Seifert goes big and heaves it towards the on-side, did not get enough elevation as he drags it to mid-wicket, strikes the ball against the breeze, Tahir settles just inches inside the field close to the ropes, and secures the catch neatly.. 164/4
8 | 1 | 62 | 4 | 7.75 | 23 | 1 | 5 | 4 | 2 | |
17.1 to HM Nicholls, Over the wicket, short ball does the trick, Wasim at deep square didn't have to move much to eat it up. That was thumped hard into the surface and he got himself into a tangle, made his mind to take him on and go for a full-blooded pull, just not enough distance, fielder perched on the rope took the catch calmly; perfect set-up, excellent well-directed bumper; massive top-edge. 91/2 34.2 to DJ Mitchell, Not too shabby on this occasion; lands it on a shorter length and angles it in from wide of off, change of angle works perfectly and Mitchell goes for a slash through the off-side, nicks it through to the keeper, credit to Akif for sticking to his plan and taking a timely wicket. Danger man departs. 186/5 37.2 to Muhammad Abbas, Caught by Rizwan! He has a plan and it's working. On a length and just inside the guideline on off, clears front leg and tries to fetch it from that line and bash it across, faint bottom-edge to the keeper and Akif gets his third. He can bowl at death too. One of the bright spots for Pakistan in this series; one for the future and what's heartening to see how quickly he adjusted and adapted himself to the conditions and to the rigors of international cricket. 211/6 41.6 to MG Bracewell, Last ball of the innings. Naseem lost it for a couple of seconds and finally spotted it in the air, started to backtrack and pouched it in the last second, extending his arms fully; well-directed shorter ball with not much pace outside off, he tried to pull it down the ground and mistimed it completely as Naseem got under it just in time at third man. 264/8
5 | 0 | 31 | 1 | 6.20 | 15 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | |
40.2 to MJ Hay, Launches the ball straight into the hands of long-on! Slow rising ball at chest height, tries to go big down the ground and finds Babar in the deep; he had to go. Cleverly bowled. Gave him some room, he tried to get on top of the bounce and had to manufacture all the power, couldn't do it from that difficult angle. 244/7

20.2 to RA Mariu, Sufiyan strikes! Generously flighted delivery on the stumps with enough turn to beat Mariu as he tried to play the slog sweep shot, goes down on one knee, beaten by the flight and turn, struck on the front pad. Massive appeal turned down, Rizwan sends the decision upstairs. Replay confirmed no bat involved, three reds and hitting middle-leg stump. 103/3 |

32.4 to Mohammad Rizwan, Hurls it on a fuller length outside off, actually a slower one and is undone by the clever change of pace, he tries to smoke him across the line and ends up miscuing it in the air, easiest of the catches for Hay and Pakistan captain departs and he has a glum look on his face. Fell after playing that shot; was very wide and to pull it from there was always going to be difficult. 169/5 38.4 to Tayyab Tahir, Lapse of concentration after a bit of delay and he slugs it away to deep point, Seifert takes a few steps back and pouches it comfortably under his eyes; enterprising knock. Slower shortish one outside off. 218/9
9 | 0 | 34 | 5 | 3.77 | 32 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 0 | |
16.2 to Abdullah Shafique, Another short ball and he tries to hook that away, finds the fielder at deep backward square to perfection; didn't get the middle and just needed a little bit more solid connection and elevation; he was trying to accelerate and it was there in the slot, shot was on, will be gutted to throw away another start and not convert it into a big score upon his comeback to the team. 73/1 26.4 to Agha Salman, Short ball does the trick again! Short and bounce on middle-leg line angling down the leg-side, Salman attempts to swing it away over the on-side fences, poor execution as he misjudged the length of the ball, finds the top edge and Duffy completes the catch at deep fine leg area near the ropes. 135/4 37.2 to Naseem Shah, Sounded only pad, unconvincing appeal for a caught behind, there's a chat though. Slightly short and angled into pads, seaming back a touch and he tries to help it on its way. Sent upstairs for further examination. It definitely hit the glove and the ultra-edge has seismic activity on it so that decision will be overturned. 212/7 37.3 to Mohammad Wasim, Dug in short in the channel, climbs alarmingly off the deck, edged to O'Rourke at fly slip and Sears is on a hattrick Too good for thee, too hot to handle. 212/8 39.6 to Sufiyan Muqeem, Pace-off shoritsh ball at him as he shimmies down leg, swings hard and mistimes it to mid-off and Sears picks back-to-back fifers - tremendous feat and with this New Zealand complete a whitewash. 221/10
8 | 0 | 39 | 1 | 4.87 | 20 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 0 | |
33.4 to Faheem Ashraf, Backs away and slices it to Seifert who takes a wonderful tumbling catch at short third; Pakistan are falling apart again, showing their tendency to implode. It has become a familiar tale. Nice bounce and sticking into the surface. 176/6
3 | 0 | 16 | 1 | 5.33 | 9 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
21.3 to Usman Khan, He's taken an absolute screamer! Banged in short pitched ball on middle-leg with extra bounce off the pitch, Usman Khan throws his bat at it, full swing of the bat and finds the leading edge, skies it high to square leg area, Bracewell sprints in from short mid wicket, he covered his ground and dove full extension with both hands up, catching the ball while still in motion. The Kiwi captain's determination to make the breakthrough was amazing!. 97/2

23.4 to Babar Azam, Catching practice at deep mid wicket! Bouncer delivery on the stumps, it was there for the big shot, Babar pounced onto it with the full swing of the bat, got the power but not enough elevation to clear the fences, only managed to pick out the deep mid wicket fielder near the ropes, timed it beautifully but placed it right into the hands of Seifert. Soft dismissal.. 108/3 |
