Indian Domestic: Vikram Rathour to lead North Zone in Deodhar Trophy

Punjab opener Vikram Rathour will lead the 15-member North Zone Squad in the limited overs Deodhar Trophy league cricket tournament. North Zone will take on Central Zone on January 19 at Guwahati in their opening encounter.
The team includes Navjot Singh Sidhu, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Singh Junior, currently touring New Zealand with the Indian Team. They are expected to be back on January 9 as they have been dropped from the Indian squad for the one-dayers series against the Kiwis.
The North zone team was selected in a meeting of the selection committee held at Nalagarh (Himachal Pradesh) yesterday under the chairmanship of National selector Madan Lal. The Team members are Vikram Rathour (Captain), Navjot Singh Sidhu, Dinesh Mongia, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, Harbhajan Singh, Harvinder Singh (all from Punjab), Ajay Sharma, Ashu Dani, Virender Shewag, Vijay Dahiya(WK), Rahul Sanghvi, Robin Singh Junior, Amit Bhandari (all from Delhi), Rajiv Nayyar (Himachal Pradesh) and Kanwaljit Singh (Jammu-Kashmir).
No players from Haryana and Services team which stood third and fourth in the Ranji Trophy one Dayers in the Zone could find place in the Zonal Team.
