Kenya have named Sammy Joel Obingo, a former football administrator, as their first ever general manager.
The appointment is a necessity if Kenya wish to apply for Test status next year. It was also confirmed that Obingo, who starts on May 15, will be the team's manager for two years.
Obingo certainly has some experience on his CV. He was the secretary-general of the Confederation of East and Central African Football from 1994 to 1998, and the Kenyan board said in a statement: "Obingo's appointment has the full backing of the International Cricket Council."
If Kenya want to achieve Test status, the ICC has insisted they meet certain conditions, including getting a full-time chief executive officer and general manager. On the back of Kenya's success in the 2003 World Cup, the ICC decided to fast-track Kenya's application for Test status.
