The Professional Cricketers' Association is further establishing its commitment to the development of grassroots cricket, with the PCA in the Community project headed by Gladstone Small. PCA in the Community will bring professional cricketers closer to existing and new grassroots activities. The inspirational impact of having first class cricketers involved with youngsters cannot be underestimated.
The PCA lend whole hearted support to the Oxfam varsity cricket matches. This exciting programme compliments initiatives already supported by the PCA and its members, such as the Buxton MCC Cricket challenge and the PCA in the Community's involvement with Regional Cricket Development officers, in promoting cricket to junior club cricketers across the country.
Gladstone Small - PCA Commercial Executive said:
"The PCA are delighted to be involved with Oxfam in their support of University cricket. Oxfam is a wonderful organisation and, in this instance, are helping to ease the plight of flood victims in Mozambique. The PCA, through their members, are pleased to enhance the profile of these cricket matches, and in so doing help raise significant funds for Oxfam to distribute through their charitable network."
