138 - Number of innings taken by Virat Kohli to complete 7,000 Test runs. Only three batsmen have got there quicker: Wally Hammond (131 innings), Virender Sehwag (134) and Sachin Tendulkar (136). Garry Sobers and Kumar Sangakkara also took 138 innings to complete 7, 000 runs.

7 - Double-centuries for Kohli in Tests, the most among Indian batsmen. He has gone past Tendulkar and Sehwag who had six double-centuries each. Now only Don Bradman (12), Sangakkara (11) and Brian Lara (9) have more double-hundreds. Hammond and Mahela Jayawardene also made seven.
40 - Kohli has scored seven double-hundreds in a span of 40 Tests. He scored his first double-century against West Indies in June 2016 in his 42nd Test. Since June 2016, no other batsman has scored more than two double-centuries. Azhar Ali, Alastair Cook and Steven Smith have hit two each. All other India batsmen combined have hit only three double-centuries.

Only two others have done it against six teams: Sangakkara and Younis Khan. Australia is the only team against whom Kohli has played without scoring a double-hundred.
5 - Number of India batsmen to make a 250-plus score in Tests. Kohli joined VVS Laxman, Sehwag, Rahul Dravid and Karun Nair in doing so. Sehwag made four 250-plus scores while the others have made one each. Kohli is the first India captain to achieve this. Kohli beat his previous highest score of 243 against Sri Lanka made in 2017.
