Aniket Verma

Born in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, Aniket Verma had not played a single game at senior representative level when he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 auction for his base price of INR 30 lakh.

Known as a middle-order basher, Aniket rose to prominence when he smashed an unbeaten 101 off 75 balls with six fours and eight sixes for MP against Karnataka in the Under-23 one-day tournament in December 2024. He played seven games in that series, scoring 184 runs with 16 sixes, averaging 46 with a strike rate of 152.06.

Before that, he had turned out for Bhopal Leopards in the Madhya Pradesh League in June 2024, scoring 273 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 195.00. His best knock in the league was 123 off 41 balls with 13 sixes to help his side rack up 278. He made his debut in senior cricket in a T20 game for MP against Hyderabad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, although he bagged a first-ball duck in that game. That was the only T20 game he played before he made his IPL debut for SRH against Rajasthan Royals on the second day of IPL 2025 at the age of 23.
