Chris Russell

Chris Russell, a skiddy right-arm seam bowler, was born and raised on the Isle of Wight but got the opportunity to trial for Worcestershire and came to play club cricket for Wolverhampton. He enjoyed a fruitful start to 2012 for Worcestershire second XI and made an impression against the touring South Africans, taking 6 for 72 in the match, after which he was handed his first-class debut at Edgbaston. He bowled well with 4 for 43 in the first innings and played all but one of Worcestershire's remaining games that season impressing with his sharp pace. But after starting the 2013 season in the first team, he lost his place due to a lack of control and featured in just one first-class game over the next two seasons.
