Justin is one of the rare breed on Ireland born cricketers who have played first class cricket in Ireland. He played for Leicestershire between and 1993. In 1993 it became clear that he would be available for the I.C.C. Trophy and made his Irish debut against Australia that year.

He went to Kenya with the 1993/94 party and had a successful tournament. Being the leading run scorer with 235 runs at an average of 39.16. On being released by Leicestershire, he came to Ireland to play Club Cricket with Malahide in 1995 and had an outstanding season, breaking the records for most runs in a season and most 100=92s in a season in Leinster cricket.

When Alan Lewis was injured early in 1996 he took over the captaincy and led Ireland to its first victory in the Triple Crown series (v Scotland, Wales, and England Amateur) and followed that up with victory in the inaugural cup. These successes have led to him being retained as captain for the forthcoming I.C.C. Tournament.

One looks forward to him scoring his first century for Ireland in Malaysia
