Katherine Raymont took up cricket on movint to Brisbane in 1979, playing for Pine Rivers, later for University, and from 1988-89 for Toowoomba the club she formed on moving to that city. She played for Queensland from 1980-81 to 1993-94, being state captain from 1985-86. In 1990 she was a member of the Australian team to tour New Zealand playing three Tests and a One Day International. She has been a Queensland delegate to the Australian Womens' Cricket Council since 1991 and a Queensland selector since 1994. Her earliest work was for Government Chemical Laboratories and then as senior laboratory technician at Gatton College. (Warwick Torrens, December 2002)
