Captain of the national side, Louis Burger is a solid middle-order batsman who also bowls as first change for Namibia. He took over as captain from Deon Kotze in 2006 and has been in sizzling form since, scoring two first-class centuries, the biggest of which was 120 as his side demolished the United Arab Emirates inside two days in the 2006/2007 Intercontinental Cup.
He played all six of Namibia's matches in the 2003 World Cup and although he had a nightmare with the bat - his top-score was 5 - he did dismiss Matthew Hayden, Michael Bevan and Ricky Ponting on his way to figures of 3 for 39 against Australia.
