Prasanth Parameswaran is a left-arm medium-pacer from Kerala who came into the limelight in the 2011 IPL season. He had a dream start, dismissing Virender Sehwag in his first over on debut for Kochi Tuskers Kerala and winning the Man-of-the-Match award. He was brought back to earth less than a week later, when Chris Gayle hammered him in an over that yielded 37 runs. Parameswaran hails from Alappuzha and began playing competitive cricket at the relatively late age of 19, after initially trying his hand at the hammer throw. He made his first-class debut for Kerala aged 24, and won an IPL contract after a strong showing in the 2010-11 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Siddarth Ravindran
