Wicketkeeper

Reshma Gandhi started her career as a wicketkeeper and top-order batsman playing for Maharastra. She subsequently represented West Zone and Northern Railway and ultimately India. She had a safe pair of hands behind the wickets and was a technically sound batsman. She opened the innings more often than not and was considered a player who accumulated runs in a steady manner. She preferred to rotate the strike by taking the vital singles and twos rather than attempting to hit fours and sixes. She scored an unbeaten 104 runs on her debut representing India against Ireland in an one-off match in England. She became a regular member of the Indian team after that. However as a keeper she remained in the shadow of first-choice wicketkeeper Anju Jain though that did not deter her spirit and dedication towards the game
