Royston Crandon is a middle-order batsman and offspinner from Berbice. After several years of playing for Berbice, he made the step up to the first-class circuit at the relatively late age of 23 in 2007. Crandon has had a quiet couple of seasons in which he has managed to secure a regular place in the Guyana team. There was also the unexpected high of a West Indies cap in 2009 when he was picked for the Champions Trophy after the region's leading players withdrew following a contractual dispute with the board. He is an occasional spinner who topped the bowling charts in the domestic one-day tournament in 2009-10, forming an effective slow-bowling trio with offspinner Veerasammy Permaul and legspinner Devendra Bishoo. During the inaugural Caribbean T20 in July 2010, Crandon took three wickets in the final over to ensure favourites Trinidad & Tobago were knocked out in the semi-finals.
