An agile and whippet-like wicketkeeper, Burrows played for Berkshire in the C&G Trophy in 2003 before signing for Hampshire in 2004 and made his debut the following season. His progression was hampered by Hampshire's regular wicketkeeper-batsman, Nic Pothas, and Burrows was released by the county in 2009.
