Usman Arshad

Usman Arshad signed with Durham ahead of the 2014 season after an impressive start to his first-class career. Arshad, born in Bradford and a product of Beckfoot Grammar School in nearby Bingley, took 16 wickets in five Championship matches towards the end of the season to help Durham win their third title in six years. He also showed his batting potential with an innings of 83 off 88 balls in a losing cause against Sussex at Hove. Arshad is a graduate from the Durham academy and a former captain of Durham's 2nd XI. In 2016, he was used predominantly in Durham's Twenty20 side and showed an ability to bowl yorkers at the death. Arshad left Durham in 2017, going on to play Minor Counties with Northumberland, and he played one Championship fixture for Leicestershire in 2018.
