William Buttleman

Wicketkeeper Will Buttleman made his debut in Essex's 2019 Championship-winning season - although his contributions were at the less-glamorous end of the spectrum. He first filled in as a substitute after Adam Wheater injured his thumb in Essex's opening match, taking one catch in an innings defeat at the Ageas Bowl (their only loss of the campaign). A full first-class debut came at Headingley in June, when Buttleman's 0 from 37 balls played a part in helping Essex avoid the follow-on.
