The stats highlights from Brown's innings will be up soon as will Tristan Lavalette's match report. Do check it out. Hopefully, there'll be more stories about him as well. A couple of days time to both look back at what was an awesome innings ahead of the grand final. Sixers beat Heat away but the three-time winners will be wary of Heat doing to them what they did to the Strikers side, who were on a hot streak coming in tonight. Join us then, thanks for your company tonight.

Nisha: "SOK V JOSH BROWN (IF FIT) : Match up of the BBL 2023/24 finals!"

Josh Brown, POTM: Hip's a bit sore but will hopefully be alright. Just twisted it tonight. Still pinching myself. When I hit my first pull, I felt good. I was standing still and looking it hit it out if it's in my slot. That's how I've played since grade cricket. My power's always been there, have had to learning to defend. Prefer pace. Strikers are an incredible outfit. Onto the final, that will be interesting. Hope it'll be a good wicket at the SCG.

David: "McSweeney picked a good time to bowl!"

9:55pm Guess who the player of the match will be. The chase brought in very few surprises. The Shorts, especially Matt, had to go big but Spencer Johnson knocked them over with pace, real pace. Kuhnemann, Walter and Bartlett kept things quiet in the middle. Their task was made simple by the monstrous target. The batters went hard, tried their best. Nielsen got fifty, Kelly got 41 but nothing else of note. The day was all about Josh Brown though, he was the only batter to get going and get stuck. Everyone else played on a different pitch pretty much.

McSweeney to Pope, OUT

McSweeney finishes it off, Brisbane Heat win by 54 runs and will take on Sydney Sixers at the SCG. Was a length ball outside off, Pope swung across like Nielsen, skied it towards cover. The skipper took a few steps across and took a dolly. Celebrations follow

McSweeney to Nielsen, OUT

Juggled but taken. Wakim tried to take it fingers up above his face, fumbled and the ball tipped his cap and was falling down. He swivelled and was falling, took it just above ground. Was a slow wide ball that Nelsen tried slap over cover

Harry Nielsen c Wakim b McSweeney 50 (33b 6x4 1x6 51m) SR: 151.51

McSweeney to Nielsen, 2 runs

Nielsen gets fifty with an under-edge. Wide length ball, he tried to crash it down the ground with a cross bat. fielder ran from the edge and stopped it just inside the ring

19.2
1
McSweeney to Boyce, 1 run

Wide on a fullish length, out of Boyce's slog-sweep arc. Ball goes off the bottom of the bat to short third

19.1
W
McSweeney to Payne, OUT

And strikes first ball. Length around ff, Payne got low and top edged a slog sweep. Went proper high but didn't go that far. Lot of time for McSweeney to settle underneath and take it

Works the shortish ball down the ground

18.5
6
Walter to Payne, SIX runs

Cannoned over long-on. Shortish ball angling away outside off, Payne hung back and battering rammed it

18.4
Walter to Payne, no run

Inside edges a slog onto pad. Was a fullish ball coming in at the stumps, Payne tried going over midwicket again

18.3
6
Walter to Payne, SIX runs

Launched just over the deep-backward-square boundary. Was a shortish ball, hip-height, Payne rotated as he pulled it into the sky. Fielder at the boundary leapt out and tried to take it with his left hand, couldn't reach it

18.2
1

Too fast for Payne. He stood leg side of the length ball over leg and tried fending. He can afford a smile

W
Bartlett to Thornton, OUT

Spooned to wide mid-off. Pitched up, Thornton tried to lift it from off stump while standing still. Toed it to the left of Walter, who scuttled from mid-off and took it.

Pumped over the bowler, mid-off and mid-on were in. Back-of-hand slower one around off, Nielsen launched it through the line

Bartlett to Nielsen, SIX runs

Slower bouncer, Nielsen waits an eternity before pulling it over short fine leg. Bouncer around chest-height, Nielsen pretty much hooked it with a swivel

16.6
1
Johnson to Nielsen, 1 run

Full on leg, tries to drive up and over down the ground. Inside edges it onto pad

16.5
W
Johnson to Bazley, OUT

Direct hit from point and that looks out. Bazley walks as it's sent upstairs. Was a fullish ball for which he was outside off, he missed the flick and the ball deflected to Wakim. There was a minor mix-up but they went through. Bazley was a tad casual in his last hop and the ball pinged off the stumps. Sloppy but it won't make much of a difference, just gives Heat another reason to cheer about. Confidence booster for the debutant though

James Bazley run out (Wakim) 7 (4b 0x4 1x6 6m) SR: 175
16.4
Johnson to Bazley, no run

Bazley goes across and Johnson is smart, goes over leg. A late, fine pull was attempted and beaten
