We have the Qualifier and the Knockout confirmed - Brisbane Heat will face Sydney Sixers at the Gold Coast on Friday and Perth Scorchers, who will finish third on the table to get the hosting rights for the Knockout, will face Adelaide Strikers at the Optus on Saturday. There's a game tomorrow but let's just lie down for a bit now and enjoy the thrills this game has offered...

Normt : "The Scorchers really need to overcome the very poor starts their opening batters are giving them. Eskinazi is not contributing at all "

Shubha: "6ers head into the qualifiers with lots of confidence and momentum. There are multi time Champs for some reasons, including their chasing ability like today "

Sujatha : "It wasn't see saw : the 6ers were always in the hunt. The last few overs (when wickets fell) just added to the thrill."

8:27pm That was unbelievable. Sixers began their chase with thorough pragmatism. Moises Henriques, who's speaking now, says he told the top four to not lose it in the powerplay and keep wickets back. They did that thanks to some luck along the way, which Henriques mentions. Vince was firm with his strokeplay, Hughes took on Morris first up to set the tone. With 65 for 6 off six, they were going strong. Hardie got Vince, which led to a quiet period. Despite that, they kept the asking rate under 12 and kept wickets in the shed. Hardie got Hughes and Henriques took it upon himself to get the odd boundary. Scorchers weren't letting go of their their fortress that easily, they slayed back in the last three overs that were a chaotic blur. But in the end, the skipper took Sixers home.

Hayes: "It only took about 10 years, but Henriques has finally exorcised those demons from the BBL3 final."

Daniel Hughes, POTM Right up there, hell of a game, hell of a knock from the skipper. He was cooked at the back end but was calm and got the job done. Heart rate was prolly 220 towards the end, didn't know if I wanted to cry, watch or what to do. So great to get a win over here, such a hard place to do it Rapt. Gold Coast was our basically home during covid. We played six or seven games, know it quite well. Will be a different challenge. Looking forward to it, we're pumped.

Vishal: "Moises Henriques just recreated the stadium scenes of what Pat Cummins did in 2023 WC finals!"

Hardie to Henriques, FOUR runs

Carved over short third, Moises has done it! Sixers will meet Heat at the Carrara. Cheers among the dugout, silence in the crowd. Sixers have come to Scorchers' den and drowned them out with a roar of their own! Lot of fielders in the ring on the off side, Hardie went into the pitch. Henriques made room and slashed, top edge took it over the infield

Long chat as expected. Surely everyone's gonna come in. Long-on and midwicket out

Shubha: "19.4 Moises : The Crowd Muter"

19.5
2
Hardie to Henriques, 2 runs

Two stolen, scores level! Throw came at the non-striker's end but it was Henriques who was struggling. Full-length dive from Abbott. Hardie, who was pointing to the keeper, had to take the throw and dislodge the bails. Abbott's made it! Henriques was tired and had a long way to go but got lucky. Was a wide shortish ball that was slapped to deep cover

Ryan: "BANG! WILD"

Josh: "After all the horrible collapses in the BBL this year... Sixers have said "hold my drink and watch this.......""

Hardie to Henriques, SIX runs

Holy Moises, he's pulled it over backward square to mute the crowd! Back of length, hip-height, Henriques stood tall and pulled with a swivel. Flat as a tack to bring it down to 3 off 2.

Hardie to Henriques, 2 runs

The lowest of full tosses on middle is whipped to the right of long-on, Henriques did brilliantly to give it a bit of elevation. The batters have to get back, the throw is wide of the keeper, who tries to reach back and dislodge the bails but the back-and-forth motion allows time to complete two. Henriques is cooked.

Moment of truth now. Henriques faces Hardie, 11 off 4 needed

Iain Climie: "Take pigeons, add cat?"

Hardie to Dwarshuis, OUT

Inglis underarms it to the stumps, Sixers crumbling now! Fullish ball just inside the off-side tramline, seemed slow, Dwarshuis swung and missed but trodded forward probably looking for a run but got stuck in no man's land. Inglis doing the rest easily.

Wide yorker is too wide. Sixers have an extra

Behrendorff to Kerr, 2 runs, OUT

Kerr goes for a third that never existed, Behrendorff picks up the throw on the bounce and takes off the stumps with the batter not in the frame. Was a fullish wide ball that was slapped over the infield. Three fielders chased it and one stopped it. Not sure why the batters went for the third cos Henriques would've been on strike if they had too.

Dot, crowd are lovin it. Behrendorff runs back. Kerr had some width and tried to slash it away, hit into the pitch back to the bowler

Length over off, pulls it to the left of deep square, who has to run to midwicket. Two taken

Hat-trick ball almost produces a run out!

Sunitha : "18.1 On par with Michael Neser's effort, if not better. In the Top 3 catches of the season"

Behrendorff to Edwards, OUT

Another high ball, this time it's an easy catch to Tye. You just can't write off Scorchers, can ya? Shortish ball into the pitch, Edwards goes leg side and tries to pull it first ball but top edged it. Tye walks back and takes it fingers pointing up. Behrendorff now on a hat trick!

Laurie Evans is on the mic as Sweet Caroline plays, he sings with the crowd. Great scenes

Behrendorff to Silk, OUT

Top edge, big ol skier, Inglis runs back and might've taken the catch of the tournament! He ran back from inside the ring deep into the outfield, kept his eyes on the ball and timed his dive well to take it in the air. Was a length ball at the stumps that Silk tried to whip across the line.

Brilliant direct hit from the keeper, is that a run out? Henriques slid his bat through and just cleared the crease. Sigh from the crowd, third umpire calls it not out.
