Openers Robert Key and Stephen Moore dominated the New Zealand A bowling attack as England Lions got themselves into a comfortable position at 123 for 0 in the first unofficial Test in Queenstown. Key stroked a fluent, unbeaten 79 at a strike-rate of over 70 with nine boundaries, while Moore provided him support with 43 before rain prevented further play after 37 overs. New Zealand A will now look to claw back on the second day after their decision to field didn't yield any favourable results on the first.
England Lions are on a two-Test tour of New Zealand. The second Test begins on March 7 in Lincoln.
