Another full-bunger aimed at the body, whangs it away to long on and there's the win for MI who remain perched at the top of the table, it's been a clinical display once again, too good for ADKR
KnightRiders vs MI Emirates, 12th Match at Abu Dhabi, ILT20, Jan 28 2024 - Match Result
MI Emirates won by 8 wickets (with 6 balls remaining)
So, that's all from the first game of the double-header, Shashwat has fired up commentary in the second game between Sharjah Warriors and Desert Vipers so you may hop over to that tab. It's goodbye and goodnight from me, Rvel Zahid
MI Emirates gyrate towards convincing victory by eight wickets with an utterly professional performance. They were riding high on confidence and were always ahead in the game. Fielding was a massive contrast between the two teams as MI held onto their catches, whereas Knight Riders seemed lost and bogged down once Muhammad Waseem and Kusal Pererawent berserk in the powerplay and then slammed half-centuries to break the back of the chase. Knight Riders got a decent score on the board on the back of Andre Russell's staggering knock of 47 down the order but they were struggling with the bowl from ball one and never really applied pressure. The supersub Ali Khan was brought in late into the attack, and Sunil Narine seemed a bit indifferent and ran out of ideas as his teammates were hammered for a barrage of boundaries.
Pushed to long on for a run and they're only a hit away from a resounding win
Low full toss on middle which is sweet music for Tim David, he accepts the gift and spanks it merrily over wide long on for a six
That's a vicious bouncer on middle and leg, sways away from the line and decides against hooking it in the end
Goes full and doesn't offer much room, manages to prod it down to long on
sliced away wide of backward point and picks up a single edging closer to the target
takes the pace off and lands it on a length outside off, creamed to sweeper cover
back of a length around the line off, lovely pick-up shot to deep midwicket, fielder in the deep collects it on one bounce
low wide full toss, slapped away to deep backward point
slings a wide yorker, keeps it out to short cover, Ali Khan hunts it down after his follow through
Holes out to long-off! On a length angling across off, makes room and goes big down the ground but hasn't got all of it, ball taking the outer half of the bat and the fielder takes a superb catch, Hain was stationed in the deep
touch short outside off, shimmies across his stumps and attempts to scoop it away, gets rapped on the pads while moving across
carbon copy of the previous attempted shot and it's the same result, de Lange sticking to his guns and hitting the surface hard, keeping it nice and straight in the channel
gets too far across his stumps in a bid to hook it away but can't pull it off
outside skews away to backward pint and they pinch a run
Rapacious loft for a six! Just clears the fielder at deep midwicket, got underneath and gave him a brutal treatment
tries some improvisation and can't connect it while trying to guide it behind square on off
dishes out a full length ball tailing away from off and it outside the guideline on off
That has been heaved into the orbit, short ball munched to deep square and the fielder caught the ball but then flicked it in the ground and went over the rope even though it looks like he could have just held onto it, maybe wasn't aware where was the rope and misjudged it
misses the yorker again, it's outside off, back and across, plinked out to deep square
