Ryan Carters led a determined New South Wales stonewalling in Adelaide to claim two points in a draw with South Australia. Chasing down a target of 277 became a secondary objective as Johan Botha accounted for the middle order. His four wickets were key to the Blues' lack of substantial partnerships, but Carters' half-century kept things even.
Carters collected six fours and three sixes in a 175-ball effort, but when seamer Chadd Sayers had him lbw for 84, the Redbacks scented victory. A feisty cameo from Steve O'Keefe - 34 off 59 - stalled that charge and he received excellent support from No.10 Josh Hazlewood's 52-ball 12 to prevent the Redbacks from getting the final wicket for the win.
O'Keefe was a thorn with the ball as well as he ensured the Redbacks tail did not wag and they were dismissed for 280. His 6 for 70 took his match tally to eleven.
