Chiswick Park was opened in 1884 and staged two first-class matches, one in 1886 when CI Thornton's XI played the Australians and the other in 1887 when Middlesex entertained Oxford University. The nine-acre site was purpose-built for cricket and tennis for local residents, but it latterly became the St Thomas's Hospital sports grounds. It was sold for development after the Second World War.
