Anderson Phillip, a Trinidadian fast-medium bowler who can hold his own with the bat if needed, got his first feel of international cricket during the Covid-19 pandemic when he was a travelling reserve in West Indies' expanded squad on tour in England for a three-Test series. He did get his chance to play for West Indies not long after, when Sri Lanka visited the West Indies in March 2021, turning out in the third ODI for not-too-impressive returns of 0 for 43 from six overs. He has since travelled with West Indies to the Netherlands and Pakistan to play ODIs and two Tests - against Bangladesh and Australia - in 2022, but didn't do enough to stay in the selectors' radar. He has been a part of the CPL with Trinbago Knight Riders in the past, but not since 2022, when he picked up one wicket in four bowling innings. Most recently, at the West Indies first-class competition, he was Trinidad & Tobago's most successful fast bowler, with 29 wickets at an average of 18.82.
