24.4 to KNM Fernando, taken at deep fine. A top-edged pull shot, one of the few false shorts he's played all innings. Plenty of effort behind this slower bouncer, which is why the ball gets up over Madushka's chest, cramping him. All his control is takne away, both by how far the ball bounces and by how it doesn't come onto him the way he likes. Dwarshuis deserves that just for the execution of all that. Smith deserves it for the bowling change and Zampa makes sure it happens by taking a nicely judged catch right on the edge of the boundary, and knowing he was going to go over it, he pops the ball up at the last second, pops out, then pops in and completes it. 113/2 | ||||||||||

5.3 to P Nissanka, Cleaned him up! The dot-ball pressure finally gets to Nissanka. He began well but then was tied down. Now he charges down recklessly to break free and has been freed from the batting crease. He swings across the line and completely misses the length ball on the inside edge, and it disturbs the timber behind. Australia on the board early. 15/1 | ||||||||||

26.5 to PHKD Mendis, drags it on! Another dismissal that shows going slower just works. Abbott rolls his ringers down on the ball, makes in hit the pitch hard. The ball holds in it. 2.5 to MW Short, huge appeal and it's given lbw but Short has reviewed. These are slow and low pitches and Short is standing tall to pull off the front foot. Not the best idea. The ball, pitching just short of the good length area, skids through to hit him on the back thigh, in line with middle stump. No bat. Ball-tracking says crashing into middle and leg stumps. That's why Asitha celebrappealed in the first place.. 16/1 4.6 to J Fraser-McGurk, taken at mid-off. Change of pace. The length was there to smash through the line. But it's the knuckle ball. And he hasn't clocked that. So when he goes through with his shot, he only mistimes to it to Asalanka. Walks off shaking his head. Australia two down early in a big chase. 28/2 6.4 to TM Head, taken at deep square leg! Head had hit it so sweetly. A pull shot, with the front leg coming up off the pitch and the ball flew flat and hard. Avishka Fernando, the substitute, has to run to his left, dive and he comes up with a beauty.. 33/3 | ||||||||||

14.5 to JP Inglis, he's gone. Sri Lanka have vindication. The arm ball from Wellalage has completely fooled Inglis. Going back to push it through cover, he finds his inside edge comfortable beaten and his middle and leg stumps in tatters.. 79/4 16.5 to GJ Maxwell, Jaffa! Maxwell is out of here and Wellalage is on a roll. What a ball. He flights it more, lands it on middle and leg, drifts in to draw Maxwell forward before spinning past the outside edge to take top of off. One point against Maxwell could be that he did not come fully forward, and then looked to defend with an angled bat than a straight one. Peach, absolute peach of a delivery. Sri Lanka celebrate big time and why not! This is ending quickly.... 83/6 20.5 to BJ Dwarshuis, Goes again, long-on in business and he does the job. Wellalage is generous in his flight yet again, Dwarshuis backs himself to clear the ropes again. This time he gets more height than distance, Malinga in the deep makes no mistake. Some serious collapse from Australia this. 94/9 24.2 to A Zampa, Knocked him over! The arm ball does it for Wellalage as Sri Lanka register their biggest win against Australia in ODIs. He goes wide of the crease and fires in a quicker arm ball, Zampa goes back to punch it away but is beaten on the inside edge. 107/10 | ||||||||||

15.6 to AM Hardie, Edged and gone! Catching practice for slip Nicely flighted, full outside off, Hardie goes hard for the drive but gets a thick outside that Kamindu gobbles up at slip. It was the straighter one, perhaps the slider. Initially thought it was the legspinner but it wasn't. Hardie played down the wrong line really. 80/5 17.1 to SPD Smith, Hasaranga has the big fish! Smith has been given out lbw but he opts to review. Tossed up on a fullish length, it is the legbreak. Smith pushes in front of his body to defend but is beaten on the inside edge and is hit low on the front pad. Lands on middle, does not spin in much but does enough to clip leg. Australia lose Smith but not the review. 83/7 19.2 to SA Abbott, As plumb as it gets! Abbott had perhaps made his mind to play the sweep. Gets down for the ball even before the ball really arrives to him. Hasaranga tosses the legspinner up, full on middle and leg. It dips under his blade and hits him low on the front pad. Abbott walks up to his partner to chat about the review but is sent on his way. 86/8 | ||||||||||
