4.6 to MT Renshaw, Amazing toss to win indeed for Stars, their pacers are getting swing after five overs, this one's brought about another pole. Renshaw tried to counter the movement by charging down and tried to flick the length ball on the up. Cut off some of the length but the away movement meant it went off the edge for another dolly to Maxwell at slip. 33/3

1.6 to C Munro, Skied and taken! Munro has looked at sea today, and this was a long time coming! Looks to flick away this length ball that seams away after pitching around middle and leg. The leading edge pops up to Lawrence at backward point and Stars have their first wicket. 10/1 3.2 to T Banton, Banton's proactivity no match for the conditions! Steketee keeps the length full, knows it's a luxury that the swing affords. Banton, Kohli-esque, in that he chased it a bit and tried to drive it well in front of the body. Edges it to Maxwell, surprise surprise, at slip. 21/2

7.1 to NA McSweeney, Who's the Test incumbent? From that ball, you'd think it's Siddle. Inswinger pro-max deluxe! 131ks, curves in sharply turning the half-volley length into one fraught with danger. McSweeney tried to work with it, went for the flick through midwicket, close-faced bat is beaten proper. McSweeney went hard at it which didn't help him make contacr. 39/4

12.1 to PI Walter, Big shot... It's sailing, aaand... it's caught at long-on!. Was an 88ks wide full ball that Walter slog swept. Toppish edge. 68/5

16.1 to W Prestwidge, He's not the big show, he's a freak show! Perfectly described on air. George Binoy wrote a few weeks back about Angelo Matthews doing a boundary save in 2009 that was Ahead of its Time. This is that fully actualised. The ball was sailing past the ropes, but Maxwell took off with buckled feet - like a frog splashing over an invisible wall - and yanked the ball with his right hand. The swoosh was so quick it looked like an illusion. Generally, such pace is used to parry the ball back in. But this one stuck, and most impressively, he managed to do it while in the air while propelling it hard enough to bring it back in the playing area. He then ran across with short steps and finished it by taking it easily. Yowza! Was a tossed-up full ball on middle. Prestwidge stood in the crease and tonked a full-fledged drive. Got a decent chunk on it. Shoulda gotten six but not in Maxwell's world.. 106/6 |

0.1 to BM Duckett, Review first up! It's for a strangle down leg. Heat are convinced, hands on heads among fielders but Munro was quick to review. Was a length ball that swung in late and got decent bounce.. 0/1 2.6 to SB Harper, Is that swing? Yes, wobbles top of leg too! Bails go on a flight, Bartlett is pumping fists, jumping, all energy... Was a fullish ball that was angling in at the batter, Harper stood where he was and played the line. Problem was he went for the flick. Bat was nowhere close to ball.. 14/2 17.1 to MP Stoinis, Top edges a slashed cut straight to deep third. On a length, wide and he went as hard as he could. Stoinis can't clear the game but has effectively done it. 146/4 17.2 to GJ Maxwell, Heaved... excellent catch by Renshaw. He moved to the right from midwicket, flung himself close to the ground. Took it with both hands while hovering. Was a shortish ball around off that was pulled after making toom. 146/5

3.1 to TF Rogers, Stars scattered... Like Heat, their top order is crumbling against pace. This had Rogers squared up and back in the crease, hoping to fend it with the straight bat. 140-plus ball hit a length and straightened off the pitch to take a feather. Lost very little pace off the pitch too, it looked like. 14/3
