2.6 to AD Thomason, hit on the back pad offering no shot, and the finger is up this time! No shot offered so impact not a problem, and this nipped in appreciably off the seam. Thomason doesn't look to happy about it, but it looked like it would have crashed into the top of off stump. 8/1 12.2 to TM Head, another one goes and this is beginning to resemble the reverse fixture a few weeks ago! A beauty from Sanderson from round the wicket, angling the ball in and nibbling it away just a fraction off the seam, and Head's outside edge flies to second slip as he shapes to nudge into the leg side. Northants are flying!. 29/3 12.6 to S van Zyl, the procession continues, Sanderson has another left-hander! Perfect length, angling in to force a shot, and van Zyl's limp edge just about carries to Vasconcelos at first slip, who takes an excellent low catch before flinging it away in celebration. Northants have four within the first hour. 30/4 28.2 to GHS Garton, angled in, smashed on the knee roll, and Sanderson has a fourth! Only problem might have been the angle past leg stump, but it looked very good to the naked eye. 67/8 56.3 to JJ Carson, edged, and third slip snaffles the chance this time! Carson trudges off to hearty applause with a maiden first-class fifty to his name. Partnership of 99 with Crocombe, keeping Sussex in the game after their collapse this morning. 11.2 to TJ Haines, got him! Haines falls, edging to slip! A bit of extra bounce from a length, veering from his generally full length, and Haines was surprised by it, steering to Vasconcelos at first slip. Just rewards for Berg after a probing opening spell. 28/2 59.3 to JA Atkins, edged, and an excellent catch, diving low to his right at third slip. Curran finally clings onto one, and Sussex are bowled out for 175. Not much of a score after choosing to bat, but significantly better than they'd feared at 67 for 8!. 175/10 | ||||||||||

22.2 to R Vasconcelos, edged and snaffled by Brown! Just a hint of movement away to take Vasconcelos' outside edge, and this game is bubbling up nicely. 53/3 41.3 to SC Kerrigan, cleans him up! Inswinging yorker, Kerrigan can't jam his bat down in time, and turns around to find his stumps have been rearranged. Off stump out the ground, middle stump at an angle. Comprehensive. 107/5 54.1 to AM Rossington, gets his man! Garton makes the breakthrough, Rossington edging low to second slip where Clark takes an excellent catch. Hint of nip off the seam but the key thing was the line, angling across Rossington into the corridor of uncertainty. Tried to defend into the covers, but could only steer into the cordon. 160/6 81.5 to BW Sanderson, knocked him over!
