44.1 to TWM Latham, nicked off down leg! A wicket from nowhere, Potts finally gets lucky. Pope knew straight away and the finger didn't take long to go up. Latham has played well but he won't be ending his two-year wait for a Test hundred. Just a tickle of the inside edge as he flicked at a full one on the pads. 142/2 58.6 to KS Williamson, oh my! What a way to go! Length ball, fended down into the pitch, it drips behind him, Williamson tries in vain to kick it away but it trickles onto his middle stump! New Zealand's great batting hope virtually face-palms his helmet in disbelief as he trudges off. 185/4 66.2 to GD Phillips, length ball outside off takes a wild swing at it and sends it straight down the throat of Zak Crawley at backward point! Tempted and caught as New Zealand go six down. 212/6 97.1 to MJ Santner, And gottim! Fuller ball outside off stump, a hint of movement in to beat Santner's forward press and clatter into the top of off stump!. 347/10 | ||||||||||

30.3 to WA Young, gottim a beauty! On a length on off stump, seams away as he jabs his hands at it and it flies off the outside edge to Harry Brook low at second slip. Will Young heads back to changeroom without adding to his lunch-time score. 105/1 63.3 to DJ Mitchell, fullish outside off and swallowed! Slightly mistimes this one, hits it on the up and picks out Ben Stokes at mid off. Mitchell throws his head back in dismay and is still muttering under his breath as he crosses the boundary rope. 206/5 80.4 to TG Southee, slogged straight up - taken! Southee goes in pretty inevitable fashion in his penultimate Test innings, but not before blamming three more over the ropes. Steepling catch for Carse coming in from mid-off, but he settles himself under it and holds on. Southee departs to another ovation with a strike rate of 230. 303/9 | ||||||||||

52.3 to R Ravindra, steered tamely to gully! There's a long, anxious wait while they check for the no-ball - but no reprieve for Ravindra! Carse looked like he was about to be sick, having bowled Williamson while overstepping last week. But Rod Tucker is eventually satisfied there was some boot behind the line and Ravindra, who had paused his walk from the field, has to go. Not a threatening ball but played loosely in the air, and Duckett holds on to this chance. England strike moments before the break. 172/3 68.6 to TA Blundell, full, wide... and chipped to cover point! Bethell takes a leaping catch above his head and yet another NZ batter squanders a start. Carse picks up his second wicket, although he's bowled plenty of better balls today. Blundell was looking for the boundary again, but seemed to check his drive fatally at the last moment. 231/7 | ||||||||||

4.2 to Z Crawley, 134kph draws a leading edge which loops up and Henry, moving to his left in his follow-through takes a screamer of a return catch New Zealand think they've got the breakthrough, they check to see if he got his fingers underneath... third umpire says he did! Henry gets Crawley!. 32/1 4.6 to BM Duckett, very tight to middle, raps the pad and given out! Good length, it jagged in ever so slightly off the seam from an excellent line and struck the back pad right in front. Duckett doesn't even contemplate going for the DRS, he knows he's gone!. 33/2 33.5 to AAP Atkinson, full on middle and easy does it, another wicket! He chips it up tamely and it sails to mid on where none other than Mitchell Santner pouches a simple catch. 141/8 35.4 to MJ Potts, fullish, tight on off stump and skied to backward point, where Glenn Phillips runs back to take an excellent catch! 15.5 to JG Bethell, gottim! Bethell drives loosely and is pouched at backward point! O'Rourke had given him a fairly torrid time in this short spell thus far, and eventually strikes. Hands away from the body as he chases the shot, thick edge and it flies at a comfortable height for the airborne Phillips to cling on to. 77/3 15.6 to HC Brook, chopped on first ball! The crowd roars as Brook looks back and sees the house has been burgled! O'Rourke bags the danger man, the batter who has dug England out of a mountain of doo-doo this tour. Big in-ducker on a length and he couldn't control the defensive dab as the ball ricocheted down behind him and flicked off the leg bail. 77/4 17.6 to JE Root, O'ROURKE AGAIN! Root is gone, the big man on fire! Back cut firmly, but straight to the fielder. England lose their third since lunch and are in proper strife now. Another delivery jagging back in, extra bounce and cramping him for room. Lands a huge blow for NZ. 82/5 | ||||||||||

30.5 to OJ Pope, and result! Floated up on off, a hint of turn and bounce does for Pope as he sends one to first slip off the outside edge. Mitchell takes the catch low. Santner with the breakthrough for New Zealand!. 134/6 32.1 to BA Stokes, floated up on middle and off, strikes Stokes on the front knee roll as he kneels to sweep and given out lbw straight away! Stokes calls for the review but it's all red and the England captain has to go. 137/7 34.2 to BA Carse, floated up outside off, he shimmies down the pitch to meet it, Santner wants caught-and-bowled and NZ ask the question. Replays show it didn't bounce first, to the contrary, it popped straight back up into the bowler's hands for a simple return catch!. 141/9 | ||||||||||

Just back of a length, it angles back in a touch from a challenging line and, as O'Rourke lays his bat in front of his pads it flies off the outside edge into the waiting gloves of Ollie Pope. So ends an excellent innings which has helped NZ to a lead of 531 and counting. 327/5 90.2 to GD Phillips, clobbered... straight to deep midwicket! The Sixy Camel holes out! There'll be no century for Southee as he plonks one down the throat of Zak Crawley at long-on. Rocked back and unleashed the long handle, but got it off the toe of the bat. Still, there's another ovation as he walks off, 98 Test sixes to his name (Bradman-esque, in a way)... and he should soon get to have one last crack at the day job, too. 453/9 101.4 to MJ Henry, deflected on to the stumps, that's a wrap! Henry has a hack, completely misses the ball, which hits his bum and then disturbs the bails. He turns around and runs straight off to get going with the ball. This one thundered into his shin just below the knee roll, so unlikely to be bouncing over. Eesh, in the end it's tight, just clipping leg stump - but umpire's call is enough for Henry! He pockets Crawley for the sixth time in six innings, with his final ball of the day. 18/2 42.4 to OJ Pope, bowled trying to reverse-ramp! An ugly dismissal, however you frame it, and England lose their sixth. Pope had obviously resolved not to die in a hole against Henry, but picked an awfully difficult method of countering a length ball aiming for the top of off. Takes the inside edge and then clatters into the top of off. Southee starts his farewell round with an early birdie. 8/1 34.1 to JG Bethell, immediate impact! Fuller one outside off and Bethell takes the bait, loses control of the shot and sends a thick outside edge high into the air as Glenn Phillips swallows the catch at deep backward point!. 166/5 | ||||||||||

Atkinson's luck runs out and NZ are rapidly closing in on victory here. England's aim seems to be bring the deficit down and/or get out as quickly as possible. 231/7 45.5 to MJ Potts, clears the front dog, holes out to long-off! The procession continues as Potts tries to practice his range-hitting and sends up another dolly to Southee in the deep. 231/8 47.2 to BA Carse, dancing down and gone! Tossed up outside off, he advances early, waltzes right past it and Tom Blundell whips off the bails with Carse nowhere to be seen. That'll be it as Ben Stokes won't come out to bat and New Zealand score a consolation victory, a thunderous one by 423 runs, their joint best in Tests!. 234/9 | ||||||||||
