0.2 to P Nissanka, Ideal start for the Dutch! This one was a touch fuller outside off, and Nissanka goes hard at it. The shape away coaxes a big slice, which flies to the man at deep third. There's still a ton of work to be done though by the man running in, as the ball seems to hold up in the wind and go away from him late. A big dive forward though completes the catch. 0/1
3 | 0 | 23 | 1 | 7.66 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | |
11.1 to BKG Mendis, And he strikes straight away! Mendis takes the bait. This was short, goading Mendis into the pull against the wind. Mendis takes it on but despite his decent connection, there's just not enough on it to clear the man at the deep square leg boundary who takes it well within the ropes. 84/3
4 | 0 | 45 | 2 | 11.25 | 8 | 1 | 4 | 2 | 0 | |
17.3 to KIC Asalanka, But third time is not the charm! Asalanka's lovely innings comes to an end. Another wide one in the slot, but this time Asalanka slices it squarer and into the breeze. It holds up as the man at extra cover (who had just been moved there) comes in and takes a comfortable catch. 166/5 17.4 to MD Shanaka, Shanaka's dismal tournament continues! Back of a length on off, it nips in and cramps Shanaka for room. He looks to run this down to third man but only manages a faint tickle through to the keeper. 166/6
3 | 0 | 37 | 1 | 12.33 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 0 | |
5.2 to PHKD Mendis, Finds the man! This was short and a touch wide, but Kamindu can only crash this straight to the man at point. He'll be very disappointed with that, but the Dutch will take them any way they come. 39/2
4 | 0 | 41 | 1 | 10.25 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 0 | 0 | |
14.4 to DM de Silva, This time DDS doesn't find the connection! Looks for the slog sweep, but there's just enough turn and bounce to ensure the timing isn't quite there. Ends up going high rather than far as the man at deep midwicket rushes in, circles under and holds on well. 123/4

4.3 to MP O'Dowd, O' Dowd tries the flick and he's gone! This was another slower one, I think, on about middle stump. Having seen Levitt hit a couple of boundaries with that pick-up shot, O'Dowd ventures one of his own, but he doesn't connect well, partly because of the pace. Kamindu Mendis on that deep square leg boundary , and barely has to move. 45/1 16.2 to SA Edwards, slower bouncer, and that does it for Edwards. Nice bit of bowling from Thushara. This is dug into the pitch with fingers rolled over, and Edwards tries to pull, but is very early on the shot, and hives a nice catch midwicket, who takes it at chest height. Easy catch. 117/9 16.4 to PA van Meekeren, given lbw! But was there bat on that? Van Meekeren reviews immediately. There doesn't seem to be bat, and van Meekeren was only reviewing because they had reviews to spare. It looked plumb initially. This was swinging in to middle, was very full, and smashed the batter on what would have been his front pad, only he'd switched legs as he attempted to play a scoop. As plumb as it gets, really.. 118/10

5.5 to M Levitt, stumped! Levitt runs down the track, and gets a Theekshana offbreak that keeps low, wide of off. His bat goes over the ball, and Mendis behind the stumps takes a nice low take and completes the stumping before Levitt can even bowl back. 47/2
4 | 0 | 25 | 2 | 6.25 | 10 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
9.4 to BFW de Leede, another one goes! Netherlands are nosediving here. This was a topspinner just outside off that de Leede tried to thump over the straight boundary. The overspin makes it dip and bounce, though, and it goes off the top half of the bat into the air. Asalanka, running in from long off, takes another good catch. 71/5 11.5 to TJG Pringle, stumped! Pringle runs at the bowler, who bowls a quick googly, gets the ball to dip and jive between the bat and pad. The batter is stranded way down the track, and Kusal Mendis cheekily delays the stumping a couple of seconds long enough for Pringle to look back at him. Probably could have just been merciful and sent the batter on his way there, without embarrassing him.. 82/7

7.3 to Vikramjit Singh, wow! One of the more interesting juggled catches from Kamindu Mendis running in from the deep square leg boundary. This was a short, chest-high ball from Shanaka, which Vikram tries to find a home for in the stands beyond deep square leg. Kamindu makes good ground and gets hands to it, but lets it slip through. But then it hits one thigh, then the other as he is running, and pops back up again for him to snaffle properly. 62/3

8.3 to SA Engelbrecht, caught at long on. This was coming, you sensed. This is full, on the stumps, and Engelbrecht tries to bang him over long on this time. Doesn't get under it though, and it;s an easy catch for the fielder running in. Charith Asalanka takes it comfortably. 68/4 14.1 to A Dutt, off stump is flat on the ground! This was a length ball, shaping in, pitching on off and coming in to take the top of the stumps. Dutt made room and tried to flay Pathirana through the offside, but couldn't handle the pace. 99/8 |
