0.6 to Mohammad Hafeez, gone! Ireland strike and there's cheers all round the ground. Jubilation for Langford-Smith with a classic paceman's delivery, banana swing away and that clips the outside edge, Niall O'Brien takes an easy catch. Great start for the Irish and there's a conga going on already (in the stands that is). 7/1
9 | 1 | 32 | 3 | 3.55 | 45 | 3 | 0 | 13 | 1 | |
3.3 to Younis Khan, gone! Good ball, banged in back of a length and pitching on off and catching out Khan, who sends a thick outside edge to first slip. Two wickets now for Pakistan and that's a big incision - Khan snapped up for a duck. 15/2 30.2 to Azhar Mahmood, should be out... high and that's taken by Johnston at midwicket, who's made another good decision in bringing back his premier bowler. That was a silly shot from Mahmood and what was looking to be a threatening partnership has been broken. Pakistan are in deep trouble now. 103/7 30.5 to Kamran Akmal, "What a catch!" screams the entire office - and indeed it was, Johnston running back from mid-on and taking that over his shoulder. Poor shot to one which got big on him, and he mistimed a pull, sending a leading edge over to the captain who winds himself in diving flat on the ground. He won't mind, though. Akmal does - crashing the bat into his pads in disgust as he walks off, chuntering to himself. 105/8

13.1 to Inzamam-ul-Haq, and now Botha strikes, removing Inzamam for just 1 run. Inzamam had barely looked comfortable last over when he came in and his dismissal was a fend down to first slip for a snappy catch, low.. 58/4 17.6 to Imran Nazir, he's done him this time! Well, as just mentioned, it really was coming. Imran prodded on that shot, tentative and the edge pops off on its inevitable trajectory to first slip. 66/5
7 | 1 | 20 | 1 | 2.85 | 33 | 2 | 0 | 4 | 1 | |
12.5 to Mohammad Yousuf, gottim! That's a big blow for Pakistan and a big strike for Ireland! A comfortable catch at backward point and there's a sort-of chicken dance celebration for Johnston. 56/3
6 | 0 | 29 | 1 | 4.83 | 25 | 5 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |
20.3 to Shoaib Malik, and he strikes with his third ball! Unbelievable work out there from the Ireland team - and brother O'Brien takes the snick behind the sticks. 72/6
5.4 | 1 | 12 | 2 | 2.11 | 27 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
43.1 to Mohammad Sami, gone! That's an important wicket for Ireland which will puncture the momentum this pair were building - swept up high to the deep backward square leg for what was made to look like an easy catch. 130/9 45.4 to Umar Gul, that's it! Gul has gone. He went for the slash over to deep midwicket but it fell too short and the fielder waited under it for a while before taking the catch safely. 132/10 |

3.1 to JP Bray, inswinger which is through Bray before he can get a bat to it, pitched in line and ... was going over the top of the stumps says the much-loved Hawkeye. In fairness, Porterfield should have gone in Sami's previous over, so two blunders by Brian Jerling have evened themselves out. 7/1 5.3 to EJG Morgan, that's out, and it was a goner before the finger went up. Lovely bowling, on middle, swung so it would have gone on to hit the middle peg two-thirds up. It was through Morgan - he had seemed to be struggling with the pace throughout his brief stay - and wrapped him on the front foot but he wasn't that far forward. 15/2 23.6 to AC Botha, great reflect catch by Hafeez at short leg but a simply appalling decision, about as bad as you will see in this tournament and at such a crucial stage. The ball was heading down leg, Botha jammed his bat into the left side of his front leg and the ball hit the right and flew to short leg. Much appealing and shouting and after a long delay, the finger went up. 70/4

34.5 to AR White, short, White seemed slow to pick it up and he could do no more than spoon the catch to Hafeez at short leg. 113/6 34.6 to WK McCallan, Is it get out of jail time? McCallan goes back, is turned square and a thick edge is well taken low down by Younis Khan at second slip. Good bowling and a slick catch. 113/7

20.6 to WTS Porterfield, a key wicket. Hafeez pushed that one through, Porterfield went back and got a thick inside edge into his leg stump. Pakistan spot a glimmer of hope but there's a long way to go .... 62/3
1 | 0 | 9 | 1 | 9.00 | 4 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | |
33.6 to NJ O'Brien, O'Brien uses his feet once too often, and to be overly critical he was nowhere near that, much more of a yahoo than anything that had gone before, and he was up the creek without a paddle as Akmal completed a simple stumping. 108/5 |
