2.6 to AB de Villiers, gone! Franklin slants a few across him and then brings one in, straighter, the ball moved in the air and then came in, de Villiers stood like a duck and got hit low on the front leg in front of about leg stump, and umpire Benson doesnt hesitate to raise the finger. 3/2

1.5 to GC Smith, Bond strikes! Smith gone! This one was again pitched up outside off stump, perhaps a tad slower, Smith's feet go nowhere as he drives at it, the ball spoons up towards cover-point where Oram dives to his right and clings onto it. 3/1 47.6 to AJ Hall, he responds with a well-disguised slower ball, Hall clears the leg to biff it over the infield, gets under it, the ball spoons up in the air and into Oram's safe hands moving in from long-off. 181/7

19.5 to JH Kallis, pulls the trigger but falls flat on his face. Vettori flights one on middle, good loop that time and Kallis down the track and gives himself a bit of room as well. He hasn't got to the pitch of the ball but goes ahead with the wild slash anyway. The attempt was to get it over extra cover but he can't get the timing, it's skied up in the air and Bond completes a well-judged catch at the cover region. That is a big wicket. New Zealand cock-a-hoop. 52/3

36.6 to HH Gibbs, he's gone! The bowling change works! Gibbs drives at one outside off stump, leaden-footed, and can only look on as the ball clips the bat, the leg, and rolls onto off stump. 128/4 40.5 to AG Prince, gone! McMillan! The ball's full outside off stump, Prince goes for that punch down the ground he so prefers, but gets under it, perhaps beaten by the lack of pace, and holes out to Patel at long-off. 143/5 42.2 to MV Boucher, oh Macca, Macca! Bowls a slow one outside off stump, there to be hit, but Boucher gets under it and ends up slogging straight up in the air down to long-on, where 'Two-meter Peter', as Ian Smith referred to him, chews it up. 149/6 |

30.1 to SP Fleming, and he takes one ball to strike! Its just outside off stump, Fleming stands there and thinks its good enough to cut, but ends up getting a fine edge into Boucher's gloves, a great take!. 120/3
10 | 0 | 42 | 1 | 4.20 | 41 | 6 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |
7.2 to PG Fulton, edged and gone! Ntini persists with his outside-the-off-stump line, Fulton reaches for it and drives loosely, and the regulation thick edge is snapped up well by Hall at second clip to give South Africa the breakthrough. 25/1

12.2 to LRPL Taylor, gone! Nel steams in, fires one in one a good length outside off stump, the ball jags in sharply, catching Taylor on the crease, and without any hesitation umpire Benson flashes up the finger...but oh ho, replays show the ball was going well over the stumps.... 42/2 48.1 to JDP Oram, cleaned em up! It was full, no room to hit, and Oram swings across the line only to hear the death rattle behind him! What a celebration from Nel as he savours the sight of splayed stumps in front of him!. 192/5

43.4 to SB Styris, gone this time! Styris looks to end this affair in an array of big hits, dances out of his crease, gets under it and ends up hitting it too hard, and Gibbs, with the sun in his eyes, judges it well moving back from mid-off and takes it. 176/4 |
