11pm That's all we have for you from this game. SL need to produce a strong response in less than 24 hours if they are to keep the series alive. Same time. Same place tomorrow. Until then, this is Deivarayan Muthu signing off on the behalf of Shashank Kishore and Venkat Raghav. Take care and good night.

Mustafa Moudi : "What a Beginning for SKY as the Full Time Captain... only SKY is the limit from here !!"

10.23pm That is that. India go 1-0 up in the three-match T20I series. Sri Lanka had a proper crack at the 214 chase, with Nissanka and Mendis striking up an 84-run opening stand. While Mendis holed out for 45, Nissanka pressed onto score 79 off 48 balls. However, just when Nissanka looked like he was good for more, he fell as part of a collapse. SL lost 9 for 30 to be bowled out for 170 in 19.2 overs. The new era begins brightly for India under SKY and Gambhir. Do stick around for the post-match presentation.

SKY, India captain and Player of the Match: I think they were playing some good brand of cricket from ball one. Even with wickets falling, they [SL] kept the tempo up. We practised here for two-three days and we knew how the wicket would play. We never thought it [the game] would go away from us, given we won the World Cup. Fortunately, there was no dew

Asalanka, SL captain: Of course, we were not up to the mark [with the ball] in the powerplay. But we came back strong and at some stage thought they might get to 240. We could've done better [with the bat]. It [6-5 combination] is an experiment, but this is the way we should go in the future.

Maya : "Should've brought in Parag a little bit earlier"

Sumit: "Riyan Parag should be named MOM for his bowling effort "

Kavanooraan: "Given the rapid start by the SL opening partnership, 43 is an Himalayan margin !!!"

Parag to Madushanka, OUT

Parag closes it out with a double-strike. He pumps his fist and celebrates. Back-of-the-hand variation from Parag. Seems like the wrong'un. Madushanka swings for the hills and misses. Parag hits leg stump and finishes with 3 for 5. Positive signs for India. SL have lost 9 for 30. Wouldja believe it?

Aravindavalli : "Riyan Parag : the all rounder who can fill Jaddu's shoes"

Parag to Kamindu Mendis, 2 runs, OUT

pushed through on middle, Mendis tickles a reverse-sweep past Pant. Siraj chases hard, slides, and swiftly throws it to Pant who gathers the ball and takes the bails off. Shanka dishes out a full-length dive, but is still caught short. Terrific work from Siraj. Shanka has been caught short on the third. He has been run-out without facing a delivery

SKY tosses the ball to Parag.

MSJ: "India is gonna win but not as clinical as most of us suspected. Recent LPL experience has definitely helped SL."
