Time the presentations
Sophie Ecclestone is Player of the Match for her 3 for 27 in six overs. "I was asleep [when it rained]. Needed just 10 mins to warm up. Bowling's slowly coming along well."
Nat Sciver-Brunt: "Funny old game, isn't it? The bowlers working it out themselves and coming to me for the fields, brilliant. Bowled better lengths today, made it difficult for their batters. Of course, everyone's trying to catch them, can't fault their efforts, trying to work on it. Negotiating the new ball period and the pressure our openers put them under was brilliant. Excited to get to Durham tomorrow."
Harmanpreet Kaur: "We didn't bat well today. They didn't give us any chance to execute better, credit to them. Toss was very important, overcast conditions, wasn't easy to bat but fought well to set a decent total. Weren't able to get early wickets and put pressure on them. Lot of learnings. Today was an odd day, apart from today's match we've played really good cricket, got to remember that when we go for the next match."
7.16pm The series is level at 1-1 going into Durham on Tuesday. The chase was fairly straightforward for England, made spicy all too briefly only because of a late downpour as we veered towards the 20-over mark. Once they came back on, it was just a matter of time before the series was levelled.
I think I heard Sophie Ecclestone announced as Player of the Match. It's a well-deserved accolade too, her three-for broke the back of India's top order after they were sent in to bat. Barring Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma lower down, there was hardly any fight from the Indian batters as they posted a modest 143.
England's new pair of Jones and Beaumont started well, with a half-century stand before the skipper took over and ran England near the victory target before falling. Then Dunkley saw it off with a boundary to hit the winning runs. Wonder why India didn't bowl Sneh Rana more than the three overs she wa given. Decent game for Charani. The pacers were okay, but not threatening enough on this surface.
punches straight to cover a Goud bowls a skiddy length delivery outside off
squeezed to midwicket off a thickish inside edge, was looking to hoick across the line
mistimes a drive to mid-off
slips another one down leg, batter misses the tickle, wide called.
wafts at one outside off, beaten
full and sliding down leg, tickled past Richa to the fine leg boundary. England one boundary away from making it 1-1
leg-cutter on a length outside off, bunted wide of cover for a quick single. 20 overs bowled, we have a full, official game now
works this off her pads, good stop by Rodrigues diving to her right. Superb
low full toss, driven straight to mid-off
slips this floater down leg, good take by Richa. India take more time out of the game by going for a review. This is despite Richa saying, as heard on the stump mic, that there was no bat on it. Replays confirm a flat line, no bat involved. The not out call stays. Wide it will be.
lofted down towards deep midwicket, good work from Pratika as she ran in quickly
punched down the ground, a diving Rodrigues intercepts the ball as she drives to her left from short midwicket. Super effort that
full and swinging back in a long way, flicks the pad and roll down to fine leg for two leg byes
Arundhati to bowl
knocks her over! Kranti bowls this a touch full and just outside off, the ball hits the seam and decks back in to beat NSB's big booming drive and crashes into the stumps. Kranti yelps in delight, fists pumping, roaring. And everyone's gaze shifts skywards again to see if the drizzle is back.
floated full on off, defended back
And now we're definitely back on. Umpires walking back out. NSB and Jones are ready. The Indian team doesn't seem to be particularly enthusiastic in going back on. They're waiting, wonder why. And now they'r slowly but surely going back out there.
Right, the teams are back on. Nearly back on, but the umpires are chatting besides the boundary. A slight delay getting the official documentation through, Mel Jones informs us.
7pm restart, 24 overs game, Valkerie reliably informs. Target is 115. That means England need 13 more in 5.2 overs.
The main hover cover coming off as well.
The Super Soppers are doing rounds, the umpires purposefully stride off the field into the long room and into the team rooms to inform them of a possible restart.
Charlotte Edwards and Luke Williams on the England balcony are looking skywards to see where the rain is coming from. 7.15pm 7.11pm is the cut-off time, says Ravi Shastri on air. Funnily enough this is the kind of mizzle you won't go off for, but you can't get back on unless it stops. The main covers is still very much on the pitch.
ckt: "what's the DL par score?" -- England well ahead. The covers are coming off
6.44pm The umpires have walked out to the middle to chat with the groundsman. They have done so without the umbrellas, a sign that the rain has thinned considerably.
6.39pm The rain is getting heavier and we'll go off. The intensity has picked up suddenly; we're still eight balls away from this constituting a full game.
The skies behind the pavillion block appears a lot brighter - and that's where the weather comes from apparently. And as I type, the intensity of the rain has reduced.
The ground staff did wonderfully well to pull on the hover cover and the side covers quickly. Will take a bit for them to peel those off if the rain stops, but there's really not much time to make up here since we've already used up the extra hour.
whipped over the infield to deep midwicket
hit well but straight to mid-on
Hint of drizzle spotted on the TV cameras
length on middle, defended back
dug in short but down leg, NSB takes on the short ball and helps her down to the fine leg boundary
Goud back
